I am in a fairly remote part of the world and we get few visitors. Anyhow sitting at the Club Bar chatting to a visitor (supplier) i picked up on a theme in his conversation, it was Xtreme from this forum :o

The next day another visitor, driving a Defender 110 Keswick green ;), rocked up as the sponsor of our dart comp.

He told the story he was an ex Rover employee and assembled LR in Lae, PNG in the 70's . He also stated, he had been talking to his mates still working there and Defender production has been extended to April to fill some large back orders.

The other tit bit was the story of how the Mini Moke production line was on the wharf waiting to be sent to PNG and the Govt introduced a export tax, and the whole business got closed down instead.

So when someone produces a picture of the Solihul line disassembled i will believe the last one is made.

...hows the volcanoes going?

My brother in law whom I mentioned to you before as service manager in Moresby, has left and moved back to his favourite volcanoe in Dominica as General Mgr of Nissan and associated brands.

He lives on an active volcanoe again.

Pretty quiet at the moment, i prefer it letting off steam rather than saving it all up.

Probably an accidental but extremely good statement.....we should all do that.

This happened to me yesterday...

The Jan 2016 Edition of "Land Rover Owner International"
Page 118 "Your Land Rovers" - "Aussie Rules"

So I am at a meeting with a supplier of mine, and I'm introduced to a new employee of theirs... We get talking and because he's a Pom I say to him "Well - being a Pom, you must have owned a Land Rover at some point in your life"

Indeed he has - and he loves them... He pulls out his phone - and he shows me a picture of the above article and says "that's me"

So instead of talking about work, we talked Land Rovers for the next 2 hours..

Small world... I had only read the article the night before!!!
