G'Day guys,

Here's another weird one with my recently acquired 2015 Defender 90.

Both interior lights are set to go on and off with the opening/closing of the doors. That is, their switches are in the middle position.

When I close up the 90, (all doors shut, bonnet down and no key in the ignition) the two interior lights slowly go out after about 10 seconds. As they should. So far all normal. Then, after another 20 seconds or so, the front interior light starts flashing. It doesn't light up fully - maybe only a quarter (or even less) of its full illumination. The rear interior light stays off.

Whether I lock the 90 using the remote, or don't lock it, the same thing happens.

I can't find anything in the owners manual that makes any reference to it.

Anyone got any idea what's going on?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the flashing part but I did have my front one stay on even with all doors closed. It was very dim like you mentioned but did not flash. It took me a little while to work out that the dogs must have bumped the back light switch just a little from the "turn on when doors open mode".

I would check all the door switches to make sure they are adjusted correctly, & also to make sure that there are no connecting wires touching the body where they shouldn't.

I had a similar thing happen with my 2004 TD5 after the door mirrors were tightened by the dealer. This necessitated loosening the door hinges & as a result moved the door switch adjustments slightly.

Cheers,

Lionel
