I bought an 88inch last year and gradually did some work on the brakes and got the Holden motor purring. It did not drive originally which turned out to be a rear half shaft which I replaced with a new one. Unfortunately no photos of the work. The brakes were 11 inch drums so someone must have upgraded them from a LWB. Then my daughter took her friend for a drive in the paddock, whilst going uphill she went to change from 1st to 2nd, lost momentum, got it into second whilst the engine was doing about 4,000rpm and dumped the clutch - no more drive. Put it away and ignored it till a month ago when I saw and add for two SIIA's - spare parts to put the shorty back together again! So I bought them both now I have 3 SIIA's and 1 SIII (bought for parts too!)
My quandary now is which one should I focus on as they all have their merits.
The 88 looks to be older than the others although it is a bit of a hotchpotch with the Holden engine, Sunraysia wheels, oversize brakes and chassis numbers not matching! Rear Spring hanger 24306027, Chassis number on the plate: 24316987G.
The wagon is interesting due to its colour, six cylinder engine and looks to be standard. Not running at this stage. Chassis 34702928D
The ute would be handy on the hobby farm and also looks pretty standard. The manifold was cracked but the one out of the SIII seems to fit. Lots of dings in the roof, looks like the kids thought it was a trampoline! Not running at this stage. Chassis number 25322742D
What should I do?
