I had a Disco Sport loan car from Southern Landrover today.
I was pleasantly surprised with it.Its no D4,so one cant compare it to that, more like a Territory.
It was a diesel auto, went well, better than the D4 off the mark being lighter and smaller, easy to park too.Drives much nicer than a Territory, however the engine noise was bad, tyre noise was even worse.
Didnt like that eco start bussiness, the hot day soon negated that without having to use the switch.
Not the most economical vehicle, the readout was showing 8.8L/100km,I get 9.5L/100 regularly on the D4 readout.Considering its lighter/smaller and a smaller motor, its quite thirsty.Being a demo it probably gets punished a bit.
It was black with a glass roof which wasnt a good choice on a 38DegC Perth day,the aircon struggled at times, fans were much quieter than a D4
If I was in the market for another Territory, wouldnt hesitate to get one of these, especially when the new diesel mojo comes out.
Whats the go with airbags outside on the bonnet???? Never seen that before.

Pedestrian impact protection? Not sure how it could sense that though.

They are on the windscreen edge of the bonnet.

I haven't found my Sport to be too heavy on Fuel. I came from a Mondeo XR5 turbo to the Sport and it seems to have better fuel consumption in a heavier vehicle and the diesel is much cheaper than premium unleaded. I haven't noticed much tyre noise, maybe your loan vehicle had different tyres. I have 19" Continentals, I think they also come with 18" & 20"

On a recent trip from Albion Park to Braidwood 400km round trip mainly highway conditions the computer showed fuel consumption of 7.0L/100km. That was using cruise control wherever possible.
