Best for the season

Hello from Deniliquin - site of a previous life before moving to the subtropics a couple of decades back.

Anyway, it's Christmas Eve, the harvest's in and the good burghers of this pleasant dorp are winding down for the festive season. For us it is the family beer barge on the Edward River and BBQ-pu on the bank afterwards.

So, all the best to the SLOW community for the season and I hope the new year delivers up something close to what you might be hoping for. Travel safely.

Years come and years go.

Another one has lapsed since I sent the original message of goodwill to the larger membership.

As it happens, this particular year hasn't been entirely kind to the S3household although the first half offered much promise with back to back trips to Asia, Africa and India. I won't dwell on the second half of this year which saw the emergence of a serious health setback for one of the tribe, but needless to say it put a limit on my general inclination to offer up much by way of trite commentary whether it be of a travel or mechanical nature. It also put a dampener on any general enthusiasm to pick up a spanner and attack the project with any degree of sustained commitment.

Nevertheless, there is a good bit to celebrate for the opportunity to reside in this marvellous continent and much pleasure to be reaped from tinkering with one of the world's truly global horseless carriages. Given that, all the best for the coming festive season and hope you have an opportunity to relish the prospects of a good new year.
