Saw a D3 in the car park as I went into Repco in Adelaide City on Tuesday.
As the title of the thread indicates - it had a Hayman Reese Towbar.

I did a double take as I have not seen a D3 with an after market/add on towbar before. I didn't think one would be necessary.

Can only assume they tow something very low.
Like a plough ;)

Whoever had that installed obviously had no intention of ever going off road. ;)

Because I saw one (and yes there is a pic of it :p) they must do.
It is rated the same as the Land Rover towbar so I am still not sure what benefit there is having one instead of using the OEM towbar.

I might have something to do with the owner of H/R having a Discovery.
We built a new manufacturing facility for Trimas Corporation the owners of the H/R brand and there was always a couple of Discoveries in the staff car park.

I think the idea behind this was for those caravan owners that just "had to have a WDH".
Apparently the story was that the air suspension is not the reason you can't use a WDH, its because the tow bar attachment doesn't allow safe redistribution of the forces that a WDH will put through the chassis.
So HR made this wonderful answer to the "problem".

I've seen a couple of these now and always wondered why, the use of a WDH is the only explanation that would make some sort of sense.

Yes there's not to many other reasons to have one.

Yes I'd like to see that one too. ;)
