Happy new year people, I didn't expect to be the one getting 2016 rolling but here we are.

Went for a drive into the glasshouse mountains today, when we got there I had much beeping from the dash and all the correct flashing lights on the gear selection next to the lever, but it wouldn't select low range.

The last time this happened I had a gearbox error message on the dash and it turned out that the motor on the transfer case needed replacing, this time there is no message and the gear lever feels wrong, when I move over to the low range side there seems to be no resistance at all, I know it's only a switch but it always felt like something moved before.

Is there a connector or something that could have come off or am I clutching at straws and I'm up for another motor?

Thanks for any suggestions hints or tips

Well I would be interested in any suggestions

I have replaced the transfer case ecu with a working one the newer model with the cooling fins, and a replacement motor for the low range selection

Result no change, the lights flash and the beep beeps but I don't get low range, any suggestions on what to try next?

Went for a drive after failing to fix things then decided as I pulled up to try selecting low range a random triumph of hope over experience and low and behold three beeps and into low three beeps and back in high. Back and forth half a dozen times with no problems,

Looks like it just needed time to decide it was working

That would have been my reply... Yep, I'm sticking to that!

Good work mate, glad you're sorted!
