This question I was asked recently. I thought it was a good one for discussion.

I built mine on a Track.

I think the conversion went well and it's a great trailer to take camping but a Track trailer doesn't come up for sale often.

I think a Cooks trailer would also convert nicely but they also don't come up for sale often.

I think a single axle Haulmark would also be suitable. I suspect there are a few of these yet to be disposed of in the auctions.

The 1 ton cargo is just too big although I have seen a great conversion for a simple camper.

The tandem Haulmark is also too big.

The No.5, a favourite and plentiful, seems to me to be too small, or at least appear to be. Unless you had one with brakes which are rare but still a small tub.

With the workshop trailer, I think it needs too much work to build up a camper.

What are your thoughts and advice on the subject?

Hi Mick,

I had the Workshop trailer down at Glenreagh last year with a camper on it. All I did (about 15 years ago) was take off the Army hoops and canvas, bolt a board to the top and put the camper on it. About a year ago bolted on some wind down legs to fix the problem with getting the rear stays up as the base hangs over the back and sides a bit and stops you from raising them entirely.

I need to look at doing some more to it, but I have been using it the way it is for a long time. I do like the look of yours.
