How do they manage to get away with not filling the radiator, bleeding the brakes and connecting the battery?

Of course, if you're in a rush and only have time to change the engine call the Royal Marines...

Wondered that myself. Guessing that it isn't going far, so no coolant or brakes matters too much.

There was no coolant when they removed the radiator.

Cast iron block and head - no big thing really, for the few seconds it was running.

Older vehicles are great for quick motor changes. Had a 1970 Datsun 1500 ute. Brother and I replaced the motor in less than two hours. Does help if your brother happens to be a motor mechanic and has a very well equipped home work shop. VW`s take less than fifteen minutes to get the motor out. Was around at my brothers. A friend of there`s turned up with a old Beetle and said it was running rough. By the time they had a cuppa my brother had the motor out gave it a service and had it back in with enough time to join them for there second cuppa.

You'll never get to heaven in a willys jeep.
Cause a willys jeep can't climb that steep.
