When refitting what side should the yellow exclamation/ book sticker face?

Can't see any yellow warning label on mine, must've faded away a long time ago(just like my sanity:p).

Don't know if this diagram helps, but it may make the orientation easier fo figure out.

What side does your red clip face?
And is it top or bottom?
It is positioned on the centre of shaft.

Very good question!

I had a good look with a torch but can't see it...maybe it got brittle and fell off sometime over the last 21 years:o

I'm sure someone here has removed a few steering shafts and may be able to shed some light, but I'm stuck!
