Hi guys

I am thinking of going to a rhino Backbone to get my rooftop stuff a bit lower. 2 questions:

-are my factory rails sellable - long grey ones?
-does anyone seal the bolts that secure the roof racks or rails with anything- I had a 100 series previously that had not very well designed roof racks and water used to run down the thread of the bolts holding the roof rack on and into the car...

cheers
Lucas

I installed Rhino 3 Bar kit to my D3 about 8 months ago. Followed installation instructions, sealed holed where told, no issue. Just before Christmas when we were about to start off on our trip to Qld (raining as it always does when we go away), I niticed water coming through the lining of the drivers side A pillar and also onto the floor underneath. I haven't had a chance to investigate and it could have just been one of the kids leaving a door open while we were packing (they do that:mad:) but it did cross my mind that the bolts on the roof rack feet might be letting water in. I'll have to check when I get home.

No buying/selling in forum. Do it via PM or the Markets.

The roof rack mounting holes in the body are blind.. Cant see water being capable of getting through ;)

Consider that the factory cover is held by plastic clips that have no sealant on them ;)
