Driving along Burwood today in the 80 kph speed zone, I noticed the traffic was banked up , 6-7 cars stuck behind an idiot in a hot pink coloured Hyundai in the middle lane doing 60kph!. the reason they were stuck behind this idiot was that all the other heavy traffic was doing 80kph either side of the idiot.
Then Idiot is almost at the intersection of Ferntree Gully road and stops 10 metres in front of the green light and holds up all the traffic behind them, and has their left turn indicator going!. So pardon every other road user Idiot!, they'll just wait at your beckon and call for you to make your missed left turn.

I imagine idiot was listening to a GPS that instructed turn left, and was repeating it to turn left. Idiot missed the slip lane to turn left.

Idiot probably couldn't think for itself and drive through the intersection and maybe use it's small brain and do a U turn and come back to the intersection.

These are the idiots that cause accidents and road rage of other drivers.
You sort of want jump out of my car and rip the ignition keys out and throw them down the nearest drain hole. This idiot shouldn't have a licence, cause they can't drive.

Rant over..... I feel better now.

Until next weekend when the day trippers frequent our local roads:mad::mad:

It is frustrating to hear about this driver.
Unfortunately driving in Melbourne as changed over the years and we have brought this on ourselves IMO.

The bigger picture to explain...
The pink car driver has been tought to drive to the conditions.
Maybe driving on a unfamiliar road looking for a turn( and not knowing if it's left or right) is quite possibly why they aren't driving like a mad person at 80km/h.
(Nothing in the rule book about driving AT the posted speed limit, only up to).
Of course people should only overtake on the right, sounds like that didn't happen.
It also would have taken only one courteous driver to slow down enough to let the pink car do his turn earlier and free the road up for everyone.

My job requires me to plan my right turns well in advance.
I know I'm slow off from the lights(57->63ton) but have found even if I've let 10 cars pass before trying to get into the right lane those behind won't allow me to, even when at the same speed.
Unfortunately it's safer to be in the right lane from the start thus holding up the traffic.
This then frustrates the cars behind who start trying to undertake.
I was tought undertaking will lead to an undertaker if you do enough of it.

In our local village letting people out of car parks and side streets was the normal thing to do.
Now people don't give a thankyou wave for letting them in or they look the other way while blocking the road, yes, even on the painted clear zones.

I blame the Television!
People seem to be in a rush rush home for the news, keep it up and they'll be on it.
The mad driving folk at 6:00->6:30pm can only be the Home And Away addicts who need a 7:00pm fix.

Well im driving along at exactly 60 kmh by my gps along churchill rd in Kilburn this morning, and a copper on a motorbike went by me at over 80 kmh...in a hurry i thought for some job. Nope. As i was driving along watching him he pulled into the local maccas... obviously late for his half priced brekky with his mates, parked there waiting for him. Yanks have doughnuts, aussies have maccas... What would ur explanation be?? Sorry officer i was late for brekky with my mates, thats why i was speeding....:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Cheers Rod

I've noticed, Mario, that this is not your first post of this nature. In fact, you have posted a number of times about road behavior such as this.
I'm beginning to get the feeling you are living on the wrong side of town.

When I read posts like that I'm glad that I don't have any stickers on my car that associate me with any Land Rover forums or clubs . .W.

Don't forget to factor in the effects cheaper fuel will have as well. The price comes down and more get out on the road.

This place is pretty well full of morons trying to get themselves killed whether its a public holiday or not. I hardly get to drive without seeing some kind of lunatic behaviour which by pure luck or other peoples avoiding actions sees the moron get away with it. Sooner or later of course tragically, the luck runs out.
cheers,

It's always fun to watch as people in the right lane put on their left blinker and go across several lanes to turn left, or vice versa.

Pedestrians can also be a problem. We were driving north out of Brissie on Friday night in heavy, fast-moving traffic and came to where a dual-lane on ramp was merging with the dual-lane highway.
Then we noticed a bloke in a blue shirt, shorts and barefoot walking along the painted line between the merging lanes and the highway lanes, heading to where they intersected!!!
No pedestrian area on the road there, none at all, nor was there anywhere where a vehicle could pull over and offer him a lift.
The wife rang the reporting number and told them, as he was about to be killed. You wouldn't do that if your brain was functioning normally, so we assume he was off his face on something.

Mario, Wifey & I see the stuff you're talking about all the time. What to do about it?.......I don't know.
Police & the do-gooders are on about "speed, speed, speed", all the time, We're well & truly sick of it, because there's plenty of the stuff that you're talking about, that causes just as many, if not more, accidents........but of course it's harder to police?

Here in Kuala Lumpur road rules are flaunted constantly. The only real rule in practice is "me first".

But with all that (above, which could fill a book), the behavior I hate most is during the regular as clockwork heavy/torrential monsoon rains every afternoon in the season - so many people insist on turning their hazard lights while they drive.

Yeah sure it makes you more visible to other traffic while you drive to the conditions. But with so many so often doing this - what happens when there is a REAL HAZZARD in front that you need to completely stop for?

Sit back and laugh at it mate. Too many of them to get grumpy. Teaching Mr L plates to drive in the left lane. He keeps commenting that he is over taking so many people doing significantly under the speed limit ( he is 5 under most of the time)

trouble is drivers look no further than the bonnet, not looking to the road ahead what's happening., changing lights, cars slowing, road works ahead , merge to right. One poster said it was safer to stay in right lane, you reckon if you were lost the left lane would be the best option, you could pull over safely and read a map or fiddle with the GPS. We get weekenders here and the are in the right lane and when the road comes to a fork and they realise at the last minute that the Tourist road is the left fork they cut in front across the traffic at the most dangerous time, and expect every one to slam the anchors on so they can take the left fork. It's not about being other drivers being courteous to them, we have no prior warning. you are supposed to give ample warning when indicating , a last minute flash of the indicator does not give you priority.
The vehicle in my original post did not use any indication to any drivers of there intentions. The stopped at a green light, stopped and then put the left indicator on. If police had seen I'm sure they would have received an infringement or at least given a stern speaking too.
