Think about getting some for the bonnet (with spare wheel mount), both the main section and the 2 outer, raised sections. Anyone able to recommend a supplier?

This place in the UK:

LR182 - Defender Two-Piece Bonnet Chequer Plate | LR Parts (http://www.lrparts.net/defender-two-piece-bonnet-chequer-plate-from-2007.html)

LR181 - Chequer Plate Defender Wing Top Protectors | LR Parts (http://www.lrparts.net/chequer-plate-defender-wing-top-protectors-has-lipped-edge-on-wing-side.html)

Not sure what postage would cost.

Give Landybitz a call 0417 780 017, they import the Patriot 4mm black stuff from the UK. Good quality and comes with gasket set/torq screws that are pre-sunk.

Wont be cheap but will last and fit well.

Unfortunately the Patriot jobs (like all other I can find online) don't do the extra side bits for the raised part of the bonnet, which I'd like to cover up. Probably need to go custom.

Anyone have a cad drawing?

Nakatanenga make a kit for strengthening the bonnet with chequer plate for a spare wheel mount, also they have the chequer plate for the outer bonnet strips too.

At this stage, I think I'll be getting my own custom cut.

Ranga - I'm keen for the same mate (and some guard tops also) - let's talk and see what we can get done.

LR159B-3 - Bonnet Side For Defender Upto 2007 - Chequer Plate | LR Parts (http://www.lrparts.net/bonnet-side-for-defender-upto-2007-chequer-plate-3mm-black.html)

these are the ones. I have these en-route to me as we speak. Ive ordered from them before. Shipping is slightly slow but not too bad - postage costs are reasonable and parts are good quality and cheap. Last order I got a harmonic balancer and fuel pump to make it worth my while.

check em out.

It wouldn't be too hard to knock up a cad file as its not that complicated (four radius's and some straight lines........I'm sure there would be a member or two around that have the skills, make it available than members can go to there local plasma/laser cutting service.

I would lean on the draftee at work but he is under the pump and I have used all my favours up.

Thanks, but really can't see the need to import from the UK what is ultimately only a bit of checker plate cut to size. I'll try and find someone local I think.

Yeah I've got some 5 bar sheet that I'll eventually cut into some various pieces for bits I've been wanting, but mine is all hard anodised black, plus I already had some parts on order so for an extra $50 odd bucks - I couldn't get a sheet that long for that price let alone anodised too, even if I did the cutting drilling and grinding. The anodisers that I use have a minimum price for a set size tank. When I cut enough pieces to fill a tank then it becomes cost effective. Which I will do eventually, neck deep in a dozen other upgrades at the moment but.
