Nitto tyres have relaunched in Australia & are offering 5 4x4 tyres for the price of 4 thru Bob Jane.
I priced the Terra Grappler 2 in 285 50 20 at $330.00 F&B.
The 265 50 20 were priced at $298.00.
I just need some one to confirm if the 285's will fit!!!!:D:D.
Photos would be appreciated.

Visit Gordons Green Oval Experience website.
He has a spreadsheet on there with all the size combos and what you need to make the bigger ones fit.

Gordon's website indicates they will fit, however I have heard they are very close to the upper control arms.

That is a good price, about the same as I paid at St George Tyres about 18 months ago, add in 5 for the price of 4 and it's a great deal..
These are very good tyres and for an aggressive A/T they run just about silent for over 20,000 k's. Mine are noisy now at 38k but plenty of thread left.

I chatted to a guy on the forum about the 285/50R20 Nitttos and he runs them but has the rods in full time. Apparently a bit of rubbing at full lock in access height. Normal height is fine no rubbing. This was on a MY13. I have a MY12 and went the 265/50R20 as we use access height all the time to get into the garage. Also wanted to make sure the spare tyre would fit in fully inflated. Note sure if the 285's will fit in. I second Terry's comments. Great tyre for the price and they hold on well to the road.

Used to have a D2 with a chip & occasionally ran big Simex ET2's so know the feeling & still remember the noise:)

Thanks for the pics Muskie.
What psi are you running on the beach????
The sand looks firm, how would you rate the sand.Hard,Firm,Soft,Very Soft,I need some Viagra?????
There are 2 WA "DISCOVERY" on the bonnet owners that are very not happy with the 255/55X19 in "I need some Viagra" sand;);););) As we discovered on a recent fishing trip.
We were really strugling in sand we both thought our D2's would sail thru.
It may have been tougher than we thought, there was an SDV6 "DISCOVERY" on the bonnet in the caravan park with a horribly re-aranged front recovery point on the front.

oh Landy Andy, you cracked me up !! So funny!!
these shots were taken at Rainbow Beach/Double Island point, up on the Sunshine Coast and it was an Awesome Trip!!
there were three of us on this trip and we never struggled once.....passed a Pajero that was Bogged and the wife yelled out, as we drove past, that they wished that they had one of those!
we were running 20psi on the beach and didnt use the sand mode once......its those tyres im telling you! they should have all came out with balloon tyres!
oh, and the water was Crystal clear at 26'!
we all got in trouble by the wives when we got home.....the kids got bad sunburn and they ate too much icecream on the beach :-)

What rims are you running.
They look like black RRS rims.
Do you know what offset they are.
I have a vague recollection they have a slightly different offset to disco rims.

Awesome Shots Andrew !!!!!!! looks like soft stuff !!
where was that at? looks cold too....
i export Brad's Maxtraxs all over the world and never ever had the chance to use them yet....i have four on the roof...just in case a meteor falls from Mars and lands in front of me ;-)
yeah, the offset is perfect for the tyres i'm running and yep, they're Range Rover Sport wheels...i did a lot of research at the time and found out that these rims are best suited for both the load limit, tyre type and size.
i picked up a brand new set from the UK for 200 pounds and the sand blasting & powder coating cost me about $70 a wheel !
(ps, free freight from the UK thanks to where i work)
the spare is flat...so i can get it in there.....

It was Horrocks Beach.North of Geraldton WA,south of Kalbarri.
Not cold at all,a pleasant 25degC the days we were there whilst it was roasting at 40degC plus at home.
Any chance of setting up a group purchase for Max Trax????
I would like 4.They worked so well.Gordon(Green Oval Experience) reccomends them. They work really well with the Terrain Response.

Muskie do you remember what the spec of the rims were? I've found 20" in 8.5" and 9.5" wide as well as 35,47 and 53mm offsets in Genuine RRS rims.
Thanks.

Thanks
Given that your rims are 9.5 wide how do you think I would go with the Disco 20 x 8 rims with the same tyre.
Reading the tyre spec they can go on an 8" rim.
I know the offsets are the same just the rim widths are different.
Appreciate your assistance with this.
Cheers

hi Chuck,
i had tried two sets of wheels with the same offset and ended up with these ones, as they look heaps better and are much easier to keep clean.
bear in mind that they will rub slightly on the front box section on the chassis in park mode...
and just be sure to have your tyre dealer try out both size Nittos before you settle and make your decision...That is either a 275 or a 285/50/20.
i chose the larger size as they look the part and are awesome on the beach, which we visit often.
if you have any further questions pls PM me.

Same here with mine that have now done 42,000 k's, but they are now noisy and not near as smooth on road as they used to be. If they get any noisier even if they still have heaps of tread I more then likely will start looking for something else.
