clarified the no name and shame guidelines as people seem to be having trouble getting their head around them

there are several reasons why this rule is in place on this system.

they are here to protect you and AULRO.com from legitimate claims as well as vexatious claims. either can cost quite a tidy sum to defend.

4) YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO NAME AND SHAME INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES OR CORPORATIONS ON THIS SITE. Whilst we welcome feedback we do not allow you to name and shame. Should you name and shame it will attract action which at worst could see your access removed without warning and at best see a formal warning being logged in case there are further instances.. ( If someone asks about a business, workshop or individual and you have a negative opinion, say 'i will contact you via PM'
If you have an issue with a business, workshop, individual and wish to share it with the forum, you make your thread 'i have had a negative experience with a business in state xyz. PM for further information' Anything else that identifies the business, workshop, individual or hints at it will be treated as a breach of the rules.
You are free to elicit responses by inviting interested parties to respond via Private Message should they require any further information on matters covered by this clause.)

If you frequent any of the VerticalScope owned forums and sites please be aware they have had some serious data breaches.

look here (http://www.verticalscope.com/) for more info

IF you used the same username and / or password on their sites as you do here I suggest you change your password on this system ASAP.

Although this system is as hardened as my knowledge will allow, we cannot prevent someone logging in as you, if they have your password.

It is good practice to use a different password on each system but as we are all aware, that rarely happens.

thanks for you time

yet again we have people escalating issues well past what the terms and conditions of access allow.

we have rules for a reason

please

if you have a gripe with me, the system, the operators, or another user you are best served by bringing it to the admin teams attention via pm or reporting the issue so it can be looked into and acted upon if needed.

Google are implementing big changes come Jan 2017

some good, some ridiculous

they are trying to drive all sites to run in https mode which is fine except they are penalising sites that have links to http sites by putting up insecure site warnings on the site with the links instead of putting up a warning if someone clicks on the insecure link.

A version of Chrome (version 56) being released in Jan 2017 will no doubt start showing AULRO.com as being an insecure site because there are hundred and hundreds of links that users have included in posts here over the years..

should be fun...

the gallery here suffered a heap of issues with the new https setup and it has taken a few days but i believe i have it sorted now, thankfully.

More system updates that may impact your access

this morning i turned on the system wide permanent auto redirect of http://www.aulro.com/ (http://ww.aulro.com/) to https://www.aulro.com

so even if you use an old bookmark "IT SHOULD" land you here using https

hopefully i haven't broken too much doing it..

let me know if you hear or see of bad doodoo

:p

incisor

I broke heaps of things :p

so reversed the change till I find out why

incisor
16th January 2017, 09:07 AM
the AULRO app in the google play store is no longer supported.

updates to tapatalk (which it is based on) have broken it

I have asked the ad agency to have it removed from the play store

those people using it will need to switch to the tapatalk app

it is much more complicated unfortunately and you will have to search for aulro.com in the list of sites and add it to your favourites within the app.

sorry

but out of my control.

Sadly after the commotion over the last few days I will reiterate a few basic tenets of accessing AULRO.com

The Verandah area is an area where commercial advertisers can advertise and support their wares.

the area has the following description

Suppliers that users have found to offer excellent service and or parts and advice. Whilst we can not guarantee that your experience will be of the same level of excellence, there has to be a better chance if others have found them to be on the ball!

looks pretty straight forward to me

there is no garauntee offered by AULRO.com that everything will go well.

Any insinuation that it does is incorrect.

Like all advertising, in any media, it is a given that the old adage "Buyer Beware" is the primary premise of any transaction.
