View Full Version : Found and fixed a leak on the secret blanking plug!

Hi there

I noticed a coolant leak coming somewhere from below the turbo heat shield... Was this blanking plug on the oil cooler (later engines has this blanked from factory). Found a new one from another maker on the auto parts store that worked great!

I urge all D2 owners to remove the turbo heat shield (mine is staying off btw) and take a look at this plug/hose, and possibly renew it. Apparently the heat in that area turns rubber into brittle plastic!

Good find, the earlier motors with the full hose leak here also.
While your in there replace the conduit on the oil preasure switch wiring.
