Broken sun visor swivel

Gents,

Somehow I've managed to break some internal bit of the driver's side sun visor swivel. Now, unless the LHS is locked in place, the visor swings around freely with no friction braking it's movement.

My question is; how to I remove the plastic cover around the swivel mount without gouging the plastic?

Copied this from the workshop manual - doesn't seem very helpful - no particular approach recommended...


Maybe pop off the cover with a plastic trim tool?
