My Bro is destine NEVER to win sat lotto div1.
In the last 12 months on an Aus Lotto jackpot, one $70million,the other $50million
he has got 6 straight numbers(you need 7).After the second time I told him you will never win saturday lotto(6 numbers).
Well last thursday he got teased by the lotto godz once again.5 numbers and the powerball, once again 1 number short. This win JUST falls within 12 months of the first,so 3 near misses in 12 months:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
I get regular small wins that do and dont cover my donations to the weekly collection plate of the church of the greater Lotto Godz.
Anybody do OK out of our esteemed Lotto Godz.

Lotto is a tax on intelligence.
Putting Lotto to one side for a moment, NSW $2 Lotteries sell 200,000 per draw I think. Imagine a small city White Pages with all those names and one name is drawn out (plus sundry other winners). One name for one first prize. Out of 200,000.
Now with Lotto and Powerball you are talking about a few names amongst a stacked pallet of those same White Pages. Not good.
Never looked at Keno, can't say.
Other options?
Pick one horse in a 15 horse race to win there...
And shares? And futures? Well the price can fall, go sideways or rise. Superannuation funds play there because the odds are good - 1 in 3 - and they cover or hedge the moves as well.
Your choice, its a free country.

I do better on horses with names that tickle my fancy. Lotto sometimes I win a prize and its $6.85 or something but the ticket cost $7.80 so even though I win I don't really  But my Mother always said you can't be rich AND good looking ;)

I only do the smallest pick each week - I think its $2.85 or something. My biggest win has been $20.00ish. But I think its worth $2 for that "If I win , I'll buy myself this and that feeling"- that lasts until the results come in.
cheers,

I can't get anything on a one dollar scratchie. Lotto is useless. I don't know why I try. Only get a ticket in the big ones

Statistically your chances of a big return are lower in the big jackpots. :(

Apparently in America you're more likely to die from an asteroid strike (1 in 74,817,414) or Chronic Constipation  (1 in 2,215,900) than win the lottery (1 in 292mil).
Can i please not have a ticket to that second lottery? :(
Cheers

You're also more likely to die from being left handed and using a right handed product incorrectly (1 in 4.4mil).
Unlucky lefties.

Sorry, one more (positive?) one:
You have more chance of winning the lottery than actually existing.

We got second prize once, there's a big slump from the $millions to the $thousands you get. Little sister won second prize the week after.
" Missed it by that much"
A mate who played the same numbers each week spent his last bit of money buying cigarettes instead of spending it on his lotto ticket, his numbers came up that week.
Though I heard he won the NSW lottery a few years later. The Relos and his ex wife cleaned him up so he's back to where he started from $0

Working in a gov office in Warrnabool when my dad rang to tell me outstanding news- He won $2000+:):):):):):)
I asked how much the ticket cost?
then how many he had brought in the last 12 months? The maths did not stack up in his favour!
The nice lady behind me wacked me and said I was horrible for destroying his dreams:D
She was right as was I:angel:

yea, its easy to dismiss the games due to the horrendous odds,,
but (when I play)to me its just entertainment,
and the simple fact remains that sometimes someone actually does win,, regardless of how bad the odds are,,
people still beat them.

"You got to be in it to win it."
I figure on the rare occasion that I buy a ticket (maybe 3 or 4 times a year) - If I do win, then retirement here I come... I figure I have a better chance with a ticket in my hand than without...

Anyhoo,
We're sitting around bored in the compound when one of the guys from another compound rang up and joyfully exclaimed , 'I've won Lotto'!
He insisted on taking us all to the 'Yachty' for dinner and drinks......hours later and many drinks under the belt, I ask... lets have a look at that ticket.
He produces the ticket and got it completely wrong.....You have to get all six numbers in one line not six numbers across all lines I explained.
We all had a chuckle and put in our share for the 'Celebrations'.
P.N.G.........Never a Dull Moment!

Nowadays...once every 3-4 months i am allowed afternoon release from work, family and general life commitments, with this time i might have a beer and a Jamesons or 2 at our local bowling club. During the course of these time off periods i will drop a Redback or maybe 2 & no more in to my favorite machine. I will not be exaggerating if i am not on the 20:00 hrs drunks bus with a lot more cash than i went in there with. It has been an unbelievable run. On these arvos when leaving the club i will put a Pineapple in the Volo Coast Guard box and give the winnings to the "Old Cheese" when i get home. I hope this winning streak doesn't end but if it does i'll just cop it on the chin and remember it.
Cheers.

We buy a ticket when there's jackpot coming up but otherwise don't bother. Daughters ex spends 200 bucks a time sometimes every week and loves to stand there with soppy smile on his face as he looks down upon the peasants. Tosser. No wonder he's the ex. :D

I dont gamble, I dont bother with the lottery either, no point and I am happy with what I have. Many moons ago back in the UK I was a small boy, maybe 5 years old. My Grandparents at the time used to do the football pools. The Jackpot was (Littlewood's pools) 1 million quid. Vernon's was about 10 grand. They did Littlewood's all their life, the Grand dad said it was too expensive and he was going to do the cheaper Vernon's from now on. The very next week they won... Yes it was a nice prize but not the million quid it would have been if they had hung out for another week. My Grand dad just laughed and said " Well son clearly I was never meant to be a millionaire".
Secretly he must have been quite peeved, I would have been.
