Hi all,
My car has develloped an annoying whistle sound at low rpm (idle in drive or reverse) it sounds like a belt slip but it is not. Only does it when it warms up, are there any bearings that can cause this (water pump/ P/Steers ,A/C ....)

Cheers
Leon

Yes Leon all of the above could be the cause.

Start with the belt tensioner bearing. The bearing can be replaced with an inexpensive bearing without replacing the whole assembly.

To isolate it I would recommend, with the motor idling, using a long shaft screw driver as a stethoscope with the blade placed near each of the bearings and the handle near the ear.

or you could use a jet of WD40 on the bearings one by one till it stops...

it is most probably idler (tensioner) pulley or alternator.....
