any one using Milenco mirrors on a disco 1 or RRC ?

they look the ducks nuts for casual use IMHO and a truckload cheaper than either the clearview or truck australia type mirrors so am interested in any feewd back that maybe out there...

They do look good, and I cannot comment on how they fit on the earlier Disco. My experience was on my D4, and the drivers side mirror lasted all of a couple hundred kays before splattering all over the road. Others on the forum have had a better ( and longer )experience. Do yourself a favour and make sure you check out the Brunsguard mirrors before making a final decision.

Mine haven't been blown off by any trucks or the strong wind we had last week so will do me for the trip to FNQ. What you buy depends on how much towing you intend to do. I have a mate who forked out for the best model clear view and paid about $800, but he intends to travel around OZ and he teaches caravan towing etc.

They do squeeze the window rubber while on the car, but that hasnt caused any issues on any vehicle I have used them on.

I'll be getting a set of clearviews for the work Hilux soon as that will be my main tow rig I think.

Ive got a set of these, came with the van. They are Ok up to 100 kmh then start to fold in so not a problem with me unless overtaking which is a very rare thing with the van on. LOL

Yes, I think they are too large, but the convenience of taking 2 seconds to pull the mirrors out when towing outweighs this IMO. All I need to do is save up some pennies...

I would happily buy a smaller version if it were available, it does make a standard 4WD look a bit funny.

you can get them second for about $400 and there is nothing to wear so they should be fine...

After using cheap mirror mounted ones, I took the plunge a couple of years ago and bought a set of Milencos and have never regretted it. They are much more stable, have less vibration and despite initial concerns, the mounting system is very secure. A couple of pics of them mounted on my D2 mirrors are in the following thread. I would be surprised if there were any problems mounting them to D1 or RRC mirrors.
