Long range Tank

Ok after deciding to go around Aus in the 90 . One problem came up . The standard 60ltr tank is no where near enough
So i have bought a 53Ltr spare tank that and fill up using the same filler as the orignal one.
So should now be sorted.
Is 113 Ltrs of Diesel enough or do you need more .

You can travel about with the standard tank in most places. We did towing a 1500 kg caravan. Only problem is you need to stop at most of the gas stations. Having said that, I also carry a 20 litre Jerry Can for "just in case".
I found that some times I "missed" a stop because I was over 1/2 a tank and it was'nt worth stopping to fill up, then find the next stop is just a bit far away, and you cruise in on empty. Never had to actually use the jerry can, but it was nice to have available.

Is your tank a proper fit under the drivers side, made for the car? I have tried to obtain something here in Aust, but no luck as yet. I sent a note to Long Range Tanks, but they did not respond.

I generally do the same but usually carry 2 jerry cans when travelling remotely. Usually when I get to a fuel station or just before I am on 1/4 will stop and put the jerry cans in. Then I top the tank and refill the jerry cans at the next servo. This always ensures the fuel in the jerry can is good and fresh. Also allows me to regularly check the inside of the cans.

They will also custom make if required.

I believe you will need more than that if you want to travel to the really remote places. Somewhere around 180 - 200L is generally regarded as a minimum fuel requirement for remote travel.

I have a 300 TDi the tank from the factory is under the seat. The new tank goes in the back where the TD5 tank is , so i now have one under the seat and one under the back.
If you want an under the seat one , just order a 300 TDi tank, as before the TD5 all 90 tanks were under the drivers seat

You are only up the road from the inlaws. When the truck gets there i give you a shout and you can see the tank that is under the seat in the 90 . Cost about $250 from Land Rover
