I have just bout a 2010 D$ and have noticed that it drops about 20mm overnight - is this acceptable/normal or should I get fixed under dealer sales warranty ?

20mm front or back or both? The car will sometimes make adjustments after you walk away. If you know this then maybe take it back and get it checked.
Cheers

Get it sorted, mine had an issue, which is now sorted.

It recently sat for 3 weeks, and didn't sink at all,so now all good.

Some good threads on sinking D3/4,usually an air leak or a corner valve.

If you don't get it sorted,it will only get worse and cost you $$ later on.:(

And wear out the air compresser.

The vehicle will try to relevell,so difficult to locate where the problem is without pulling fuses, etc.

I would confirm what is actually going on before getting carried away. The suspension will self adjust over night. From memory, the manual states that these adjustments can be as many as 12 or so. Remember that the most obvious adjustment can be as a result of your own weight ( and passengers etc ) leaving the vehicle just as you shut it down. i would do a lot more observation and data collection before worrying too much.

Thanks, I'm aware it self adjusts. I measured height from guard to ground at each wheel about 4 times over 24 hrs. Each time the vehicle had dropped by 5 mm (i.e. it continued to drop for the whole time) at each corner - I put this down to the self levelling. I have read about disconnecting battery to stop self levelling and identify where the leak is - are there repercussions of disconnecting battery for all the computerised systems, can I just disconnect the earth?

Someone suggested on this forum to use masking tape (from centre of wheel, up to wheel flare) to also help monitor which corner/front/back is dropping....also pulling the EAS fuse stop the auto levelling during the night.
Good luck.

Multiple movements does sound like a leak. This thread may assist with determining what is happening:

Note in particular the suggestion to remove the 20A fuse for the suspension. This will stop the self levelling and help with finding the source.

Pull fuse 26 from under bonnet fuses near battery. This will stop the vehicle re levelling.

Leave vehicle on level ground,if possible for at least 24hours.

Run masking tape from each hub to wheel arch.

This will give you some idea on what the issue is.

My front left was going down around 15mm overnight, front right about 8mm(with fuse out).Front corner valve was the culprit.

Rear stayed pretty much the same, although there was a little movement as the front going down pulled the left rear down slightly, and the right rear up slightly.
