Roverlord off road spares
27th February 2016, 10:34 AM
It's a sad affair that we have to write this being a vendor and supporter of this site.

We have been contacted by a couple of members regarding some inuendos posted in this forum by some one else.
Although, It doesn't name us directly we have been contacted and asked could they be referring to our business.

Here are some FACTS:

Fact :Roverlord off road spares is a registered business in Victoria.

Fact: Roverlord off road Spares is a registered by Consumer affairs as a legit business and we bide you consumer laws of the state of Victoria.

Fact: Roverlord off road spares provides Full Warranties on New parts
purchased. And any one who has had a warranty claim can testify how quickly it was resolved and HOW WE PAID for the Return postage of the part: Unlike others we believe it was not the customer's fault so why should they pay for return costs.

Fact: Roverlord off road spares carry their own stock, we are not part forwarders, in fact we don't believe in DROP SHIPPING. We also own our stock out right, not owing suppliers money. So no risk of going broke and not being able to not supply stock to customers

Fact: Yes! we are a successful e - Business, but with "Old Fashion Service" This is our choice and model and it works extremely well for us and our customers and we make no apologies for this nor do we need to.

Fact: We have a supply network also so can also call on stock and usually within 24 hours. Obtaining parts from the same sources as others

Fact: We use Electronic parts software with Vin numbers to ascertain part correctness.

Fact: Roverlord is an online mail order business, and we do a bloody fine job at it. We do best of what we know, we don't dabble here and there.

Fact: Roverlord off road spares is built up by the Good old fashion values of hard work. We started this business from scratch and didn't walk into an already established business.

Fact: We don't only sell on Ebay, we have many repeat customers and many new referred customers buy direct off eBay from us.

Fact: We sell Australia wide, we supply mechanics, workshops and DYIer also. We have even had purchases from mechanics working from Land Rover Dealerships for their own vehicles.

Fact: We do allow some picks some times from AULRO members who are locals. Even After hours for those locals that work late.

Fact: We aren't really in the country, we are in the Melbourne metro area on the map.

Fact: We are online answering inquiries normally 7 days a week and until the early hours of the morning when others are closed.

Fact: Over the holiday breaks we often supply desperate stranded people with parts. This is when others are closed for business.

Fact: We have even driven to stranded motorists with parts in our own time and expense, to help out an AULRO Member/s.

Fact: Roverlord off road spares doesn't rest on "It's Laurels" we constantly raise the bar on service. Feed back , recommendations is testimony of this and we appreciate the support given to us.

Fact: Pricing!, having lower overheads we can provide the same parts as others at very competitive pricing.

Fact: We don't ignore customers, having been in sales for the 25 years, we have taken aboard faults and seeing how companies handle complaints and leave the customers hanging. This is not our business model, it is our hate and any problem if it arises is handled immediately, just like how we would like to be treated.

Fact: We don't man phones, we are online. So you never get put on hold whilst a counter staff is attending another customer.

Fact: we don't provide coffee, if you really need one, we can send a tea bag or coffee satchel in the mail with your part.

Fact: We never bitch or complain about our competitors, that's just bad business practise and usually back fires on people. We just get on with our job

IMPORTANT FACT: Without customers, you have no business. Treat customers well and they will return. That's out business model.

So after all is said and done, Roverlord off road spares will continue to provide outstanding service and prices as this is what "You the customer" demands and we thank you for your ongoing support

Best regards, Mario & Heather

I have always had superb customer service form Mario & Heather. I also liked the fact that if they dont have it in stock they let you know and give a good estimate of time, not just take your money and sort out the details later (would also advise if I would be better off elsewhere on certain parts). Very quick delivery.
I would second all of the above statements and highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried them before.
Thanks guys

Having done business with Mario and Heather at Roverlords for a very long time now and way before they were known on AULRO maybe i`m guessing not long after they started on ebay .
I can say it has always been satisfaction 100% Guaranteed with parts and service and price.
I for one have recommended many a friend and person simply due to Roverlord`s passion for quality parts and service and pricing ;)

One thing that stuck with me when i first purchased parts off ebay (set of radiator hoses for a 300Tdi) is i received a phone call with in 10 minutes of the purchase from Roverlords asking if my car was a Disco or a Defender so they could send the correct Rave disc with my order .
Now this sort of personal interaction on ebay is unheard of ;)
I will be customer for as long as i own a LR (for ever im guessing:eek:)
I wish them many a happy transaction with all as it should be :D
Roverlords have my support and many friends and acquaintance`s of mine ;)

I have dealt with Mario and Heather a few times and find their service to be nothing but the very best. I steered a work colleague to Mario and Heather and they were surprised at how good the service was - they said that they had never experienced service like it before.

I am totally confident to promote Heather and Mario to friends.

Brilliant to do deal with.

Mario and Heather have provided me with excellent service including a quick no quibble exchange of a faulty part. Superlative service.

Mario & Heather's little online shop is now my first port of call when looking for parts. After dealing with other LR parts places in Adelaide there's simply no comparison, they didn't keep the stock level that Roverlord does so mail order is cheaper, faster and saves my travel time too. :)

I've had no issues buying stuff over the years, at the start it was via eBay for parts for my classic, lately it's been direct forum contact for a few things for my d1 and d2.
Every time it has been a hassle free process and Mario and Heather seem to have a knack for making it so easy and being easy to deal with.

I'm unsure of what was said in other posts you may be referring to ,but keep doing what your doing, as from a customers point of view, it's working!!

Yep, have to agree with everyone else here, an excellent business to deal with whether by email, forum or phone (conformation of goods).

Finding someone turn up in rain with parts and help to do the job just blew me away. Obviously not an everyday occurrence, but I've never seen anyone but the likes of RACV or a mechanic etc do that.

Love your work Mario and Heather, keep it up :D

I think I 'Get it' now.

But I didn't think one particular vendor was being singled out...
My point of view is that there is nothing wrong with a business reaffirming their core competencies to assure their customers that they are a good business partner to deal with. There is nothing wrong with reaffirming your value to the customer and strengthening your market position, which is the real message behind this thread. I'm not even bothered by vague comparisons of products / services, as long as they are within the range of normal advertising practices - I'm sure those back in the day enjoyed 'the pepsi challenge', and just about every ad showing the comparison of 'super oxy-action' cleaner 'A' vs copetitor 'B's product while cleaning a filthy bathroom...
I'd think the line would be drawn at claiming that "Company X is a pack of Y's". But we haven't seen this yet (and I hope we don't). The FACT here is that it's all in the name of smart advertising, and increasing competition.

If anyone is wondering why I'm not joining the love-in, it's because I've never purchased from either vendor who is implied in this thread, so cannot comment on my experience, but at the same time, I'm all about business being loud and proud about what they are good at. Some of the best online business I see these days reaffirm their offerings and strengths frequently and with vigor. As a business owner / marketing department, why not?

I'm also very pro-competition for business. The day a business has no competition and can make an easy profit without having to try is the day the consumer will get the wrong end of the pineapple. As a consumer I WANT competition. It keeps everything on a level playing field. I'm not just talking price competition, but also competition of services offered, range, experience etc...
On the flipside, anti competition is a possibility, can land business in big trouble with the ACCC, and should be avoided. This could be as simple as company A agreeing with company B what they will both sell part X for. Or The marketing channel (the forum) preventing advertising by competitor brands. I'm passionate about this too.

So to all parties, keep up the advertising, keep it clean, and keep doing a good job for the consumers, and I'm sure there is plenty of room for everyone to play nice around here. We own land rovers after all, so there is no shortage of things to break, and everyone should get a good slice of the pie :p

When you are out in a rural area it's nice to know in most cases you will have the components next day, i have another seller in Rochester who also can supply parts but he can't beat Mario and Heather on price

I don't know who said what about who but I wouldn't mind if this site made it easier to see who sells what from where.
I tried searching for Roverlord Offroad Spares on the net and found nothing.

Is there a list of links to vendors sites on this site somewhere please?

Hi AULRO,
Very happy customer here.
My first experience with Roverlord was getting my 97 year old mother to order parts for me online while I was on a wee little island in the Pacific. Didn't know them from a bar of soap but Mario and Heather made sure everything arrived to her place in the Country overnight - something that has literally never happened before where we live.
Since coming back to Australia, I have had ongoing dramas with a Dodgy D2 I purchased. This has lead to a lot of back and forth with Mario and Heather both for parts, advice and moral support when I am ready to give up. Not once have I had incorrect parts sent and I have even had parts I needed sent "in advance" because they knew I needed them but wasn't in a position to order them.
Bloody awesome people and I wish they had been around 34 years ago when I first started playing with Rangies.
Cheers, Charlie in Strathbogie.

Heather & Mario,

Thanks for the fabulous service over the years, surely no-one could complain. Then again, sour grapes for breakfast might upset some people.

I have always found your service to be above and beyond any thing expected from a 'normal' business.

Thanks again Guys. :D

Thank you Charlie for your kind words.
As I have told many that I have dealt with through the business and have become long time friends as well, it's not always about the money. There are other reasons also. Having battled for many years after a spinal injury, and being told by specialists that I will never be able to be gianfully employed again by someone, it gives me gratification being able to help others and rise up and establish a successful business. As one of my specialist's said, it's great that I have been able to reinvent myself where a lot of people just lay down a give up.
That is is often more important than merely trying to make a quick fast buck. There's plenty of fight left in this old boy ;)
Cheers, Mario

It also has a lot to do with the way you conduct business and tranactions in a non BS way with a personal friendly touch with out being prompted.
It should be known that you have on the odd occasion gone the extra mile for a few unfortunates that needed assistance out of business hours . Which surely a lot of company`s with shop fronts could not do or dream of for this you deserve a big pat on the back:thumbsup:

good service is massively important - I don't understand why its gone out the window so much in recent years. My local DIY store is right on the button. I popped in for some timber for a stud wall the other week and by the time I'd paid for it , it was in the back of the 109. It makes you want to go back.
Thanks for the Vendors list.

I suspect a lot of it is from casualisation of most of the sales staff. They have not beeen there very long, so they don't know procedures well, don't really know how to provide customer service, and are not expecting to be there very long.

And even worse, the same applies to their supervisors, all the way up.

Yep 40% of workers are casual now so if the business isn't offering much, its not surprising they don't feel loyal.

;)We are always online, when you own and run your own business you can chose to work these days. We don't have the overheads, we don't have to pay penalty rates to ourselves . I even took online enquiries whilst out on the boat fishing the other day. What's the point of having an online business if you don't monitor it ;) Public holidays generate a lot of business, people are on the road, they break down and need stuff. Last week on a Saturday, 6pm we got an email, some one needed a perentie oil filter (as a shop he went to gave him the wrong filter), all shops were now shut, he needed his vehicle for work on Monday morning. We had stock on hand, and got him on his way. Satisfied customer, probably come back to us next time he needs parts. We can afford to take time off when it suits us. Besides who wants to be out on the roads with every one of the masses during these busy periods.
Cheers ,
