So I promised my boy we would give him my Disco as his first car (when he gets his licence), on the condition that he learns how to look after it and do basic maintenance. He's now almost 13, and today he helped me give the old girl a basic service for the first time. He didn't get his hands real greasy, but gave a hand with holding oil funnels, finding spanners, and asked a bunch of questions about oil, filters and what the various bits were under the bonnet.

A real nice morning :)

D2 is all I've got for the moment, but it does everything I need it to do.

Hopefully by the time I pass it down, I'll be able to afford a D3!

I use 80 litres a week in the Camry.
It's so low because I use the other vehicles on the weekend.

It's 31 MILES each way to work, and generally a tank full on weekends. Any spirited riding halves the economy and to ride defensively often requires a bit of spirit. ;)

Some big capacity bikes aren't at all economical. Most tdi cars like peogeot 307 etc are far cheaper to run /km.

JC do you know how to fix a rough idle on a hdi 2.0 pug, it's driving me nuts? Fuel filter changed. Sorry for hijack. I have a Perentie wagon project I hope the 11 yr old will notice soon. Good luck.
