In case any of you steam fans having been living under a rock its this weekend :p:p

They advertise the following locos operating.

6029 - a gigantic 260 tonne Garratt locomotive, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
5917 - American built giant from Lachlan Valley Railway.
3016 - from Canberra Railway Museum.
3642 - a legend of steam from Trainworks.
3265 - in steam from the Powerhouse Museum.

The Garrat will be doing the Central to Thirlmere trips on both Sat and Sun.

Yep, that one slipped by me.:( Been very busy getting all my ducks in a row with my semi-retirement. Busier now then when I was working full time.:) Ah well, there's always next time.:)

A bit of drama yesterday at the Steamfest .. 5917 sadly was a no show and the magnificent Garrett 6029 failed on the return journey with a hot bearing.

Apart from that the Garrett and 3016 put on a tremendous show as usual, not sure why 3642 and the Powerhouse 3265 just sat around. The 3642 is replacing the Garrett runs today.
