Hi All,

Something I couldn't find the answer for.

Is the TD5 Radiator the same for Auto and Manuals?

Fixed the FPR yesterday and the overflow pipe broke.So need a new radiator.

Then I can find out why the A/C stopped working.........

Hi Same part number. The cooling for the auto is via a separate matrix . ( it's not like old car rads where the coolant goes into the the Radiator itself)

Cheers Mario. That makes things a little easier maybe.

I have a D2a and a D2. The D2a is manual and the D2 is auto. So in theory I should be able to pinch the D2a radiator....

Is it the 1/4 inch nipple that broke off ? that happened to mine, drilled and tapped it and put in a brass nipple , lasted for several years until I put a new radiator in for our Canning Stock route trip.


If your robbing parts from a D2a put the intercooler in as well , its a lot bigger than the standard D2 I/Cooler

Cheers. Yes the D2a actually has an aftermarket intercooler in it. Bigger again I think.

An original D2 td5 radiator cannot be fitted to a D2a eu3 engine without modications
The D2 rads were dual circuit, the lower rad circuit fed the fuel cooler. When eu3 engines required the egr cooler so the rads were re-designed.:)

D2a into D2?

As all new rads are d2a types then no problem. The pipe coming from the oil cooler which would fed the lower rad on the d2 is plugged for the newer rads.

I will check the D2a Radaitor out. If its seems ok, then it may be the way to go for the time being.

I think the D2a has an aftermarket intercooler on it as well.So might swap them both over.
