Sorry, not sure just where to post this but it relates to my DII TD5.

I have just purchased a Nanocom Evo through your bulk purchase deal, thanks.

Is it normal to get two (2) only, codes and only be able to access engine data?

It seems a bit rich to buy something for a model and have to purchase more to have the unit function on that model.

I have sent a message to BlackBox but wondered what was seen to be the norm here.

I have a Nanocom, bought a few mnths back on a group buy. One code is for the body control unit, the other for the engine. I think the SLABS come under the BCU.
What can't you do?

First code unlocks engine management and diagnostics.
Second code unlocks BCU, ACE, SLABS, Air Bags and Auto Gearbox.
Check the downloads available on the BB email as these will explain each function.:)

Things must have changed, when I bought my Nan Evo years ago, 1 unlock code unlocked everything for 1 type of vehicle.

With the Discovery 2 Nanocom codes you get two.

One is for the 'engine' the Td5 and V8 codes are different, and the other is for the 'car' (BCU/SLABS/SRS) You need to specify what engine option you want at time of purchase. You can buy additional codes as and when required.

You can use a 'V8' locked Nanocom on a Td5 but you won't be able to see the engine data, and vise versa.

Not helpful in this case I know, but this is why I went the Hawkeye route.


With the unlock code provided, I can use it on every D2 in the world. Useful for mates etc.


Just unlocked it for my L322. Again I can use it on every L322 from 2002 up to the last model, petrol and diesel.

Right it's sorted.

Code 1 goes in unlock code 1 spot
Code 2 goes in unlock code 3 spot, whoda thought?
