After crawling under the house, I discovered one of the ducted heating ducting had a huge split in it.
So all winter at my expense I was heating the outside air. I thought the gas bill was a lot higher than usual!
So sight unseen and forgotten, it pays to do an annual once over.
Thought it might prompt others to check their plumbing.
Cheers, Mario

Once you've repaired the broken duct, then spend a bit of time and insulate all the side panels that form the outside covers of that space under your house (including the panel you use to access that space.. The difference it makes is huge! :)

Thanks for the reminder, I know I have a split section in the return air duct and need to get it done before the colder weather arrives again.

Better to do it sooner than later.
Varmints can take up residence in the ducting, you don't want them living in there then come winter the smell of roasting varmints permeating throughout the house or slitherys coming out of the ducts :D

Thanks for the reminder, I know I have a split section in the return air duct and need to get it done before the colder weather arrives again. If your looking to replace the section of ducting, I tried a few places, and all referred me to Metalflex Airconditioning

Other issues up here, crawled under my place tracing a phone cable and came across not one,but three snake skins.:o
They weren't there a couple of months ago.
Had a look on google, counted the scales, and they are the common carpet snake:D
One skin was 2m long.
So there is one well fed snake around,or maybe two or three:confused:
