The D1 lever is supposed to bring a lot of noise into the cabin. LR went to a lot of effort to isolate the drivetrain from the cabin in the D2 which is why its all cable operated now, and likewise the D2 update has used a different system again. I've heard of a few that dont like the noise the D1 lever brings with it, and some have also removed them again.

Yep Slunnie is right i sused this out when looking for one for my Disco and they told me that the stick vibrates as well as making it noisey, there are 3 or 4 on the market B davis, Graeme Cooper AMV, the D 1 actuator and also there is a kit from England that uses the D2a actuator which is supposed to be the best mechanisum of all of them but is expencive but you can get it from wreckers like the D1 actuator but you don't get the noise as with the D1 one.

AMV is the go ours is great.

Out of curiosity what is the build date of your Disco Andy as in month, the reason i ask is that i was sure the first model D2 came with an actuator from the factory.
