We managed to turn a simple (ish) recovery in to nearly losing the Landie off the track.
A momentary lack of concentration on the track over King Billy (Vic High Plains) resulted in this.

The plan was to winch the vehicle back, whilst securing the front from sliding downhill by a chain attached to the vehicle on the track in front. Unfortunately the angle was incorrect which made us change our mind to a frontal extraction. Big mistake. That resulted in a far worse near rollover angle and nearly collecting a snow gum.

We then had to send a third recovery vehicle ahead about a klm to find a place to turn around and come back & use his winch via an uphill snatch block, ( tree protector was used) and skull drag the Landie back on to the track.
It took a 100% team effort & all ended well. Limited photo's were taken and mostly were for what I thought would end in an insurance claim as the old girl was on two wheels more than once. I think my policy of bugger all on the roof rack paid for itself with this one.. As usual, the photo's don't show the angles.
