I had tried to post this before but it disappeared.
I have modified a county tub with a toolbox on the driver's side (it already has one on the pax side), patched the fuel filler (and a dingle in the donor body) and cut the "perentie" access cutouts.
The x-member has tube sections to allow for the filler pipe to pass - and also one on the pax side in case one day I want a second tank. It - along with other steel bracketry that will be exposed to mud - will be hot galved. The other bits i'll paint with black zinc paint.
I have sorted the rear safety anchorages. The rearmost ones are now like the front-most (so that they don't interfere with the toolbox cutout) and I have made a mirror - image of the left centre one for the new drivers side toolbox.
The "factory" one (MTC 6834) appears in the pre-1986 parts book as a listing only - the diagram only shows the right arrangement. I have never seen a pic of this bracket anywhere so include one here!
It fits inside the toolbox and the 60deg angled front edge is riveted to the sloping front wall of the toolbox. it is "mono bolt" riveted to the outer skin. There is no angle reinforcement above the wheel arch.
