Hi Guys,
Here's one for you Sydney based lot.... I'm looking at staying close to the CBD (Meriton Cameo Appts - Waterloo - Potter St.). The parking they have there is too low at 2.1m, to get the Camel in, it needs to be 2.6m at least.
Does anyone know of anywhere close that I can park up the truck?
Zook... Any thoughts?
TIA
Mark.

I'm pretty sure that the building should have a loading dock, if so that'll be truck height, and they usually have a few spaces for parking.
Might take a bit of talking.
If not, most of the builds around will have the same thing. Hotel nearby might have a space they can give you for a few days.
I looked up a couple on the web and none of them have good height.
There's a carpark in Leichhardt that I can get the 130 in. I think it might be 240, but if you parked on the upper level I think you could squeeze in.
But who wants to park 5ks outside the cbd?
Cheers
Simon.

seriously....get a hire car.....
im in the city all the time....there are no carparks to accomodate me....
i have to use the loading docks and watch how long i stay there ......
if you explain your situation to them i dont see why something cant be arranged.....

Once I've got all my gear out of the truck, I don't actually need the truck until we leave on Sat.
So.... I'm going to try & organise something with them so I can leave the truck by a loading bay or something.
Failing that, apparently, there's on-street parking there. I'll just immobilise the truck.

Having been a resident of nearby Redfern with first hand experience I endorse Tony's advice.....don't park on the street if you have a choice. The vehicle is a target..... even during the day 8O.

The Land Rover Service dudes are in Waterloo and as soon as they phone up to tell me its all done Im down there like a shot,as they usually dont have the room to park it in the bays its parked on the road.
Its Scrotesville on a massive scale.
There is a offstreet small parking area near enough opposite me that no one really knows about , its set back from the main road and round here its fairly safe.
If you get stuck give me a shout can let you know where it is.

I am not sure but I think The Domain car park has reasonable headroom.
If you want to park during the day the early bird is OK. I think about $15 but I park a motorcycle there sometimes ($6)so don't know the car cost.
Be careful because overnight parking is a separate charge, so 2 days is not 2x earlybirds.!!
Give them a call. Its walking distance to the city and has a travelling footpath when it works. near St Mary's cathedral.

I thought so too re Domain, called them, 2.2m.
You should check it out, though, the best designed carpark in the world. It is shaped like a DNA double helix, one spiral down, one up, you get the first available park every time. The ladder pieces between the two spirals work so that you don't have to go all the way from the top to the bottom to get out.
The Moore Park Supa Centre has a high access car park. That's out on South Dowling Street, a little out of the city. It isn't security, just an underground carpark in a shopping centre.
