Thought this was a good little DIY project for those interested. It caught my attention as I love looking at insects and ants and following them - this would be great to film some of it.
As it's built, it is very cheap and affordable to build, but wouldn't take much to damage it if you were lugging it around in the back of the car a lot, so you would need to be careful if you wanted it to live long term, but changing the MDF to aluminium plate (if you have the skills to work it) would make it much more robust.

Maybe one day when I have nothing better to do I'll build one... :D
