Hi Brainstrust.
Hare and Forbes are advertising an Argon exchange bottle,D $319 or E $449.
Im sure one can use argon in any mild steel mig/tig welding as I had a bottle of argon here to use up.It welded nice.
Considering ditching my BOC bottle. The argon will weld stainless and ally too.
There is no mention of a change over price once you have bought a bottle.Do they charge the same price every change???? Important for the sums,my BOC bottle usually gets changed every 2 years, longer now my boy isnt home to use it.

I have a similar deal through and ebay mob. They are local so I take the bottle down to the and get it refill/exchange for $180 for a G bottle/$150 for a E.
This is thru gascom15

Straight Argon is for TIG not MIG.

Core gas do a similar deal - the first bottle is the expensive one, then around $130 per fill after that depending on size.

Straight argon can be used with MIG and Most types of TIG.
The straight argon with MIG(steel) will reduce penetration , so no good for thick stuff, but will work Ok on thin stuff.
If MIG welding alloy straight argon would be a good pick too.
