The next Gold Coast Land Rover Owners Club general meeting will be held on Thursday 2nd February 7pm at the Options Tavern, Westfield Helensvale (just off the M1) - MAP HERE (http://gclro.com/images/GCLRO_Map.pdf)

We are a group of Gold Coast based Land Rover fanatics who meet for social get-togethers, half day, full day, weekend trips away, easy exploration and 'oh no way' options.

We cater for all Land Rover's from 1948 Series 1's to the latest Range Rover Vogues, and all classes of 4wd personalities from;
Tame adj. - I'm not scratching my vehicle to
Extreme adj. - woohoo, those dents add character

Running Order: The executive committee meet at 7pm for their meeting with all members and guests welcome to attend. Then we have a few drinks, dinner and a good chat about, you guessed it, our landies... watch some footage of our trips on the plasma screens, laugh at the photos and generally have a great time.

For further information, contact us on:
Phone: 0409 484 361

Love too, but the Disco is unwell, long trips may be a bit taxing, as i need to do a fair bit of maintenance, bottom rad hose, aircon comp and the bloody power steering is leaking again. Otherwise it's fine. But I'll stay tuned for events in the near future.

Cheers, GQ

I would like to make a night out of it, what is the go. Do you guys have dinner there at some stage through the meeting or do you usually get there a bit earlier and fit a meal in before the meeting :?:

If some of us want to get a meal on the night it would be good if we can all arrange a time together, just a thought.

Please inform :!:

Thats what I meant to ask, how does one become a fully fledged member?? I mean does it require taking a punch in the arm from other members?? Perhaps a beating in the carpark?? A skills test in my beastie, jumping it over other landies?? https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Paper, scissors, rocks? A huge donation? Just thought I would ask https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

We normally meet up the stairs in the cordoned off area to the right as you come in. I will be there in a red polo shirt with my collar up! Sometimes there's a rope across the stairs but that is to keep the Jap 4WD clubs etc out https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

You seem like a good bunch.....but I'll reserve my judgement until after the first trip I attend...and how many dents my disco ends up with https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

See you all on Sunday.

You're not wrong....love that V8 howl.... https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

It's not that bad Mick, I do have LPG as well....so it's a bit cheaper to run....I just have to fill up every 200km's though.

It surely is a great tradeoff https://www.aulro.com/afvb/, though sometimes I forget that whilst it is a V8, has a great sound when snarling, it does carry some weight, so me thinks I was dreaming when I tried to take on a BMW 330i convertible this morning, but we werent far off its tail :? , not that I am a hoon or anything 8) ,

Mines purely a weekend warrior for that reason. I used to run my Rangie(s) to work and back and in my profession I travel all over the shop I was up for well into the $100 a week for fuel 8O

I do have a transit diesel for work (ex-postie van, can't miss it https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ ), great for fuel economy like all diesls are, but it make me appreciate what acceleration is

Yeah, my disco is also a weekend/2nd car, so I wasn't too concerned about the thristy V8......it's not really that bad for weekend highway cruising, just the stop/start commute to the city during the week.

I mostly drive my 1.3 4cyl during the week.

stevo68
3rd February 2006, 04:33 PM
Mine doesnt do to bad though , not much difference from the V6 Territory I had. Mind you apart from a trip 2-3 times a week to Brissie to pick up/ drop off my children who live up there, most of it is from Mudgeeraba to Southport along the highway. I mean it aint cheap it, with current prices on premium it close on $100 a tank and Id go a tank plus a week, but hey the kids are learning to live on bread and water https://www.aulro.com/afvb/,
