G'day fellas and gals,

My fuel pressure regulator was leaking for months on my TD5, i finally got around to order a new FPR and O ring kit from Spain.

I have installed the new FPR, pipe O rings and new gasket. When i first went to prime it there was a high pitch noise, like fuel flowing through a small point. I though it was just air being pushed out of the line, so i thought nothing of it and fired here up. She started first crank with no fuss.

I went for a 20 minute drive and noticed a leak from the block :( After checking all unions and joins i figured it must be the gasket, so i went and got another one, and replaced it.

At this point i thought the noise i heard may be because of the leak, due to it not being able to build up pressure.

After installing the new gasket i still have the same noise

The car runs and starts fine

Any thoughts?

Here is the sound. Although it sounds like blowing air, the noise is coming from the fuel block i believe.

Could it perhaps be a leaking injector seal, and the regulator is now working?

worth trying an air bleed cycle, key on press acc peddle 5 times, you will hear the pump run a few times

Thanks Duarte19,

I did use this method to bleed/prime the system before starting.

Also it there was air in the system, would there not be issues with running?

Another possibility is that the fuel block could be fractured
