LED trailer and resistors

Hi All. Recently got pulled over in my own street by the cops for having a tail light out on the trailer and decided to install LED lights on my trailer. Since i was working interstate i thought I could do it one night until one of my workers said he was able to do it for me. Long story short is I'm fuming and he is one day down with one side of the trailer working and my 110 has blown fuses for the headlights and parkers on the whole lhs, no dash light, no front rhs light and no rhs rear parker and no warning sound for leaving the lights on. From what i have noticed initially anyway. can anyone tell me exactly what wires and where to connect the resistors to and maybe a diagram? I have a 7 plug in the car but a 5 plug in the trailer and led trailer lights. Hope someone can help or im going for a long drive to an auto elec!

Here are the wiring diagrams. If the vehicle is 7pin, then consider 7 pin for the trailer. Most these days are 7pin flat.

Load resister - These allow more current to flow to simulate the power drain of globes - this is for vehicles with circuits that sense trailers by the power drain from the lights.

He was on the clock so was getting paid for it. Anyhow...
The LED lights only have 4 wires not 5 like the plug. So what colour would the negative to splice on that set up? I'm not prepared to spend to much more time on it and I'm thinking just go to the auto elec and he can do it good and proper

Hi,
I don't know what your mate found at the rear of your vehicle, but if you only have four wires on the LED lights, something is wrong.
You need:
Tail
Stop
Left
Right
and a common, or earth.

Ideally you should also be installing:
Reverse, as well.

So you should have a seven pin plug, round or flat to match the vehicle.
A seven core cable, but five would do.
(the seventh wire (blue), for electric brakes is probably not required)
Do not rely on the towball for the earth connection.

Follow the code as given to match the plug/socket combo.

Look at the LED setup again to find the fifth wire.

Check the link I posted - the earth is white.

You also will probably not use all of the pins. With a 7pin flat you wouldn't be using pin 2 and pin 5.

If the LEDs have 4 wires, its probably earth, brake, parkers, turn. The earth, brake and parkers you can link between both sides. The turn signals are individual left and right which is where you get the 5 wires at the plug.
