Evening all.
I just did a self check on my climate control unit (auto button + air direction button pushed while ignition turned on) and it came up with 2 codes. 21&22 which indicate a faulty AC sunlight sensor left and right.
Question is will this effect the optimum performance of the system?

I think if you read the section in the WSM it lists a whole bunch of things that can cause those codes to appear.
Was it in direct sunlight? Was half in sunlight? was one covered? Was it in the dark? Was it raining? Was it a day with a Y in it?

I don't think it makes a lot of difference, I think the intention for them was to be able to say 'ahh drivers side is towards the sun, I'll bump the cooling up a bit more for them, i.e. they want 22, I'll aim for 21 to account for him being sunburnt'.

I think I detect an ever so slight difference when I remember to move the two hats on the dash over the binnacle which covers one side.

+1 for that...you'll get those fault codes if you run the diagnostic protocol without the sensor being exposed to sunlight
