View Full Version : Posting Flickr images

Hey guys
Does anyone here have a Flickr account that they use and post pictures in here from?
The reason I ask is
I can only fathom how to post a link to Flickr rather than the image. (So when you open the thread you should be able to see the picture straight up rather than having to click a link)
I have tried everything I can think of with no luck
I also need to be able to link it back to Flickr as per their rules.
Is this doable??

I think this is what you're asking about...
Click into the image
Click the share button
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2016/04/507.jpg
Choose the BBcode & select a size (most forums like about 1000 pixels

Copy the link, then paste it into the forum reply.

I find 800 X 600 usually works quite well.

It wont give me a BBcode the window that comes up is blank, took me 2 hours to get around the fact that I couldn't share anything after I accidentally hit that tab.
As i had to research how to get out of the tab as all pictures defaulted to it [emoji52]
I guess I don't have the share option for forums then which is why i haven't been able to do it. Now I don't feel quite so dumb

I have the basic account and it is available to me Lou so I am not sure what the issue would be with your account.
PS - The issue I have is taking 3 or 4 attempts for the photo to appear in the album after I place it there from the photostream.

I believe it to be a bug. I found an help forum post a couple actually where people have experienced the same thing. Many people claim that they did have it fixed and some with no resolution at all.
So thats why I'm thinking I just have to put up with.
Im lucky haven't had any issues with pictures not showing but i export straight from LR using jeffery's plug in and straight to an album

OK,
Just testing a work around...
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2016/04/482.jpg (https://www.flickr.com/photos/prischl/25699444564/in/dateposted-public/)
Alrighty... This is a little bit longer, but works just as well. (Firefox is what I was using - I'm sure other browsers will be similar)
Go to the Flickr image you want to post
Right click image
View Page Info
Scroll down to og:Image
Right click - Copy address
Go to forum, click button to insert jpg
Insert jpg url
Click ok
Select image
Click hyperlink button and insert your Flickr Page URL into that, then the picture will turn into a hyperlink to the page of your image.
I think that all makes sense... The below photo is what you need to click for the image URL

Yeah I tried the right clicking thing all I can do is view the source (viewing page info im pretty sure is a firefox thing as i used to use it all the time)
When i hit view source it just brings me up a bunch of code.
Not being able to work it out from there as i have not been able to find and address from with in that which i could copy and do as you suggest.
*sigh*
Its more than likely because I'm using windows 10 edge browser
At the moment inloke the browser and its light and works quick so im reluctant to load a new browser in just because of flickr.
All good will just have to download to my phone and then upload that image. Probably take away from the crispness but only feasible work around in can think of currently

Let me know where your Flickr images are.
Have a look at this thread: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/12-post-your-photos/319045-sports-cricket-season-starts.html
The OP posted one of his pics, I went to his Flickr page and saw another image I liked, so I grabbed it and put in the thread.

I don't doubt it can be done though Ron s7000 has done it in this thread i just don't personally have the tools available to me most likely because of my browser to do it.
Here is a link though like you requested

Lou, I finally got around to setting up my Flickr.
Your problem is definitely related to the Edge browser, I just posted This (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php?p=2524195#post2524195) using the BBcode method which seems to work in all browsers on my machine except Edge. ( I've got Edge, IE11, Chrome, Firefox and Opera).
If you dont want to load another browser - use IE11 as you have it as part of windows... MS just dont tell you about it.
If you go to your start menu, from run type iexplore.exe you'll be able to use flickr in IE11 and you will be able to run the BBCode method from there ;)
Sorry it took me over a week to give you a decent reply

hahahahaha its just not meant to be
So I opened explorer and it loaded my flickr page but I couldn't see my albums only the titles as I rolled the mouse over the areas where they would have been.
it was a blank white screen.
anyway I found an album in the whiteness and clicked on it, it opened up and I could see my pictures but it would not let me click on them in order to open them up.
Oh well...more hassle than its worth.
I posted a picture in here today from photobucket and using tapatalk so I know its a problem at flickrs end not mine. (other than my browser selection)

So I just joined Flickr to post pics on here.
I right click on the image and dont get a page like Rons.
I go to share and get a code thing. Copy and past that to my post and it is just a link not a photo.
Any ideas?

All my full size pics are now posted via Flickr and work OK - as per Rons pic - I would prefer the text at the bottom right of the pic be displayed but is OK.

Your picture of your lovely little wagon prompted me to join up as my pics on Photobucket are no longer in reach.
Taken me all morning to sort it out.

You wouldnt want to do that. There are more Tickfords in Oz than 88" S1 Sw,s

Yes I know but why arn't they more valuable? I guess it is that the Tickford is a lot more different to the normal 80" of the same time than the 86/88 SWs are to basic 86/88s of the same time. The other aspect is that you cannot identify a 86/88 SW from the chassis number so there is a chance that replicas can be made - so providence is all the more important for these - thanks to Diana I have some information that confirms my providence.
I only know of three 88 S1 SWs, mine, one in the NW suburbs of Sydney and one in SA. There are a few 86s around. If you know of any other SWB SWs please let me know.
Cheers
Garry
