Nice JC. It would be one of the last Maya Gold L322's. Any work required other than with the rear speaker?

Reverse camera is murky and the tv intermittent although that doesn't bother me too much as I'm not going to get the digital jumper cable converter thingy... also has a bit of a plastic bit missing from the front airdam. Bottom left corner. Easy to get i would think . Overall I'm very pleased ☺ need to hurry up and get rid of the ute though!!
I'll do some proper pics on the weekend if i get a chance.

May 05 build so quite late i guess. Checked all the oils this morning on the hoist before i took it for tyres and rego check. Trans was dirtyish but unburnt etc and transfer case oil needs changing. Will seevice it completely and replace the trans cooler and coolant, thermostat etc so starting with a clean slate at 116,000km. The Nexen tyres look pretty good and at $250 a tyre pretty happy. On an annoying note i discovered no locking wheel nut on the initial inspection and the vendor was unable to locate it so out with the persuading tool set . 😕. Managed to get them all off thankfully they weren't overtightened and the rims ended up with only a minor scratch here and there around the nut opening.
Should be all regoed tomorrow then ive ' booked' some hoist time for some care and attention on the weekend sometime. ☺☺☺

Is replacing the trans cooler only necessary for the earlier L322 GM 5L40E?

This one is a 5l40e box. The main reason i was after a low km example😕. Next on the list is one of those billet torque converters... 😮after all, the amount of towing this thing will be doing and a possible remap in the pipeline i want to be sure i cover all bases. Its a bit late after the box needs rebuilding😣

Mine's Bournville, a rich, dark brown with red in the metallic coat. A classy colour when clean but looks quite dowdy in its normal dirty state.

Nice buy JC, I'm still working on getting that M57 into my D2, hopefully I can get a 6l80E behind it and happy and then go bloody mental on it
As I'm sure you're aware, you can quite easily crack the 800Nm barrier with these motors
Enjoy!

Shhhh . But not with the lowly 5l40.... the reason i like these engines so much. Sure they are a little noisy and a little harsh compared to the tdv8 etc but so understressed that they wil just keep on keeping on... ☺

Well getting to love this thing the more i drive it... looking like a tassie east coast drive this weekend!! 😍 the long distance stuff is where it really shines. The NVH levels are on a totally opposite scale to the dmax... 😮

I find my 03 TD6 a joy to drive. Before I bought it I looked into chipping it as I heard they were a bit sluggish, but when I got it I found plenty of get up and go,much better than the chipped D2 TD 5 it replaced.Plus didn't want to stress the GM box it comes with.Had it about 6 years now.

Just been looking into remapping it actually. Mostly from a driveability viewpoint rather than outright power etc. The intetcooler looks very well designed and has Excellent airflow to it. Will report.

How is your trans going? Any issues yet? And what kind of torque increase do they claim? What is your seat of the pants feeling about the gains?

Just about camouflaged amongst the golden foliage. :D I was in Tassie earlier this week for a couple of days for work - although very dry, it is still soooo pretty.

My last D2,an 04 D2a was Maya gold.
At times it was absolutely filthy, but didn't look very dirty.
Hope it all goes well, the L322 are very nice:)

Weelllll i actually can't praise the dmax enough in every area except comfort on long drives. Looked into changing seats etc however they have airbags in them etc so that was a non event😕. Only option ended up being look for another vehicle.
