Grrrrrr!
Did a service on the truck this afternoon. Lost one of the bolts for the centrifuge filter  Dropped the old filters both the centrifuge and the paper one on the engine   . The to cap it all of my was oil container collecting everything from the sump cracked and dumped half its contents all over the dirve
In an effort to find the bolt and move the container without spilling the rest of the oil I had to roll the truck down the drive so now my tyres are covered in oil
This is because last time a came in and proudly announced it was the easiest service I had ever done on a vehicle. The car gods are getting me back. The only good thing is oil pressure is up a bit more than before 8)

Yea thems the brakes. I just wanted to grumble about my own stupidity. At least the boys have a Defender sized sand pit so several buckets of their sand it tomorrow most of it will be soaked up.

They might think I'm practicing for the summer nats. I will be at a birthday party tomorrow where a couple of the guys are waiting to see the beast.
My brother will be there and with drinking he might try and talk everyone to paint zebra strips on it. He thinks it despratly wants them.

Have you tried the tyre shine from supercheap?

Its quicker, less mess, and cheap too! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

But does it leave lovely tyre patterns on the drive disconut?
At least my beast seems happy. Now the wifes car is sulking and done a seal in the power steering pump. At least got a pump of a mate for exchange parts. Now just got to pick it up and fit it.

No, but it does leave four crescent shapes to remind of where to pull up. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Are you going to do the power steering on the drive? You might muck up your tyre pattern mural! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

I will but on a different part. My drive is Big all up 100m2 of area so plenty of room for making a mess. I will also have room to use the lawn again soon so even more room for a mess. I am looking a making a pit soon to service things with ease.

That is a very big area!

Re the pit, have you thought about a "see saw ramp" like the dealers use for displaying cars? You get the height and no pit to fall in! Lots of light, smells blow away. On the other hand if you fall out of the car you can get hurt. Don't know which would be cheaper, but one you can move around to suit the job.

Rather than a full pit. I was thinking of some steel running out level as the block is sloped. If I also dig it down a little further I can gain quite a bit of height in no time. Time will tell.

Sounds like a plan!
