from this (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/military-vehicles-general/165101-army-vehicle-disposal-139.html#post2381370) thread, does anyone know what/which snorkel that is?
It's exactly what I've been looking for to add to my every growing wish list.

Mantec 110 RAI.

I think it needs some work to be water tight.

$500, ouch.
Looks nice but at that price and still needing fiddling to make it watertight, I think I'll pass.

KLR Automotive have fabricated a special adapter for the Mantec to fit the Perentie. I was shown it last week.

Wonder how much they'll want for it.
Still. $500 for the snorkel
probably at least $100 for the KLR adapter and then fitting

You're looking at 750-800 minimum. a bit painful.
to the bottom of the wishlist that goes.

I'll find out when I go there next week.

The thing is - does anyone else do a snorkel for a Perentie? The obvious Safari snorkel for a County is only available for a V8. I just had a quick look on the 'net and it seems Safari are in the same price range.

Their snorkel is better and cheaper from memory.

The Safari V8 one will fit the Isuzu.

Yep and it's $350 from ARB, which is still a lot, but it's a lot less too!

It's not on their website.
Just sent them an e-mail. will report back when i get a reply.

$770 APT Fabrications. (http://aptfabrication.com.au/browse-catalogue/defender/product/282-apt-perentie-snorkel-perentie/category_pathway-13)
Still very pricey, but at least that one looks the part!

There is already a well detailed snorkel thread

Might be some information in there for you Chris :)

Hi Chris,

I purchased an APT Snorkel about 6 months ago. It is a very nice piece of equipment as it is all stainless steel and has been designed to fit a Perentie. While it is not the cheapest option, I think it works well. It doesn't obscure your vision as it sort of lines up with the edge of the window frame and you don't really notice it at all. I did modify mine however so that I could use the window hinge brackets rather than drilling into the window frame as this is how it has been designed to mount.

As Badco said there are more images of what I did on the snorkel thread. Since posting on that thread I have painted mine so that it looks like it was an original piece of kit. It certainly breathes a fair bit more air too as it is larger in diameter than the short RFSV snorkel that I removed to fit the APT snorkel. You can hear it sucking away as the air intake is not to far from the driver. One thing I did become aware of was that the original flexible hose had quite a few small pin size holes in it and it did look quite worn. Maybe something other RFSV owners should check before wading through any water. I replaced that hose when I fitted the new snorkel and it feels like it does suck a lot more air. Maybe it is just my imagination and the fact that I can hear it now.

Image below of how mine looks now that it is painted. If you do fit a Mantec Snorkel post some images of it as I don't think anyone on the forum has posted an image of one fitted to a Pernetie.

Regards Warrick.
