Just wondering if someone can help. I have Disco 2 TD5 that needs dyno tuning. Using a little fuel. I live sale area so need somewhere in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Does anyone know where to get this done at a reasonable price. Have been qouted in Morwell for $1500.00 for upgrade but unfortunate I cant afford this as only on pension. I appreciate any help. thank you. Rod

Your car will not need a dyno for starters;)
If anyone down your way has a Nanacom to check it out ,
The problem could be as simple as a maf or air filter:cool:

Rod, what's the service history like?

Give AMV a call - 03 9870 9904 - and talk to Greg Ellis about the situation.
I'm certain he'll talk straight to you about it.

Good luck
Pete

Pierre I will do that and I shall let you know how I get on. I only just brought it last October so don't know history. Have replace MAS, Crank sensor and replaced fuel pump. Im getting about12 to 13 ks to litre. Between 22 to 25 mpg in the old scale. Its an auto. My TDI manual used to get about 33 mpg. Anyway will give your contact a ring. Thank you. Rod

Hi Ron

If you mean l/100km then 12-13l/100km is perfectly reasonable for a TD5 disco auto. The official figs (from a 2004 brochure) were Urban 12.7l/100km, Extra Urban 9.0 and combined 10.3.

In almost 4 years of ownership I'm averaging 12.9l/100km. Mainly city driving with occasional country trips and towing a 2t caravan.

Cheers

Steve

Check your air cleaner filter, a clogged dirty filter can cause it to use more fuel.

What are they charging for the Dyno tune out of interest.

And honestly is it really needed unless the op wants a tune for more power .
In saying this they might charge for dyno time but might just remap it for power:eek:
I dont get why op wants a dyno tune because its using excess fuel
Must have some cash he wants to burn:angel:
Anyway good luck with your dyno tune;)

:nazilock:Been quoted $$250 approx may be cheaper. I'm only getting it done because I have tried everything else. I have been quoted $1500.00 for tune for more power. Have new air filter new mass airflow censer crank censer. Haven't any luck on computer. Rod

Rod,
If you have a Nanocom, talk to TD5Inside - they will provide ECU upgrades for abt $350AUD. They can either increase power, chase better economy or both - your call. They will explain the process and it takes a day or two at the most for the whole process. Their details can be found here on AULRO.

re the more fuel, just a thought, is it LEAKING fuel? the fuel tank hose rubs through on the edge of the tank, a common problem, if so this could explain your fuel usage.
just an after thought.
