I am replacing the after marking single din head unit that was installed in my discovery 2. Ive managed to get the unit out and keep the original wiring intact as ive read on here that there are ISO adapters that wont need any cutting and soldering.

Ive been looking around online and can find a few ISO adapters for Sony head units but the one i have found here

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/sony-stereo-loom-16-pin-to-iso-car-wiring-radio-loom.html

Or this one

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DISCOVERY-SERIES-II-CAR-STEREO-RADIO-INSTALL-WIRING-HARNESS-WIRE-ADAPTER-2-/280790042865

Doesnt support my Sony head unit which is a CDX-GT600UI. I have emailed the guys at dynamic sounds to see what they can find as they are the closest i have found to simply plugging in both ends and im good to go.

If i cant find a plug for it. I do have the original plug from my old car for the Sony deck but i will have to cut both plugs and solder. i dont really want to do that. is that my only alternative option?

Cheers,
Nathan

Have a look at the Aerpro web site, which has a few Sony options.

Secondary Harnesses | Aerpro (http://aerpro.com/products/secondary_harnesses)

Work out which one you need. Any spare parts place like supercheap et al or car audio shop should be able to order one in for you if they don't already have it in stock.

Cheers

So super cheap had a cable that fit the rover side so it seems to he the ISO standard. The other end which was marked as sony is way too small to fit my sony head deck. Can anyone identify the name of my sony plug? So i can try find the right part

As I said Delbs have a look at the link I posted above and compare your plug with the pics there. The APP8SP2 adapter there looks a close match.

You may have to get the shop to order it in for you though.

Yeah your correct Steve, Thanks for the reply mate.

I just made sure that the supported Sony units match mine and they do. Its on its way now.

Ill go return this part to super cheap and get some Maguires polish to clean the old girl up :)

A bit late now but the socket on your sony also matches jvc head units, i have a JVC to iso loom that i used for a sony in my wifes Pulsar.
Another option would have been a Fusion head unit that has iso sockets as standard so no adapter loom required.

Yeah i think the model wiring loom i got only listed JVC models and i just identified mine would work based on the look of the plug and pin count.

Cheers, it was shipped today so should have it installed by next tues :) i just saved myself $200 that some audio guy quoted me to install it which would have taken him 10 mins. :)
