I live in Murwillumbah you guys who follow the frontline machinery auctions will have seen a guy from here buying perenties like they were going out of fashion .Well he bought 48 all up to set up a tour and hire company he bought a stack of trailers and a couple of busses as well.Looks like he tried to get big to quick as he has gone bust and the receivers have carted it all away so looks like another big auction coming up soon just thought I would let you all know that bit of info .I also notice since he don't buy any more stuff the prices have dropped a bit. The name of the company was Go A.W.O.L looks like the went A.W.O.L. Cheers from Bushy

I saw a post on remlr forum, I think the receiver auction has already been. Finished the 16th of April if I remember correctly. Although some said not all perenties were auctioned off so there may still be some on the way.

G 'day Bushie and Ashley.
Yes they did go bust, but it is a complex story.
Only 2 vehicles were sold. They need a but of work. There are a number of good vehicles sitting in the yard at Grays online in Brisbane. That is were they will be sold.
Oh, Tom wasn't pushing the prices up. His purchases accounted for about .5% of sales to date. Hardly cornering the market.
The last round was fairly poor quality, hence some low prices. Many actually went higher than normal due to low availability.

Well it was an Auction, Highest Bidder Wins.

Wait for the people who bought the seats from AWOL, you may find them selling higher than when first sold.

Just doing a rough calculation on that figure, Dave - does this mean that AFM are "about" halfway through the LR fleet disposal ?

I note that the Army operated LRs at the Sydney Anzac Day all looked pretty schmick - I don't suppose they would keep a few good ones for such ceremonial work ?
But that job couldn't be done with GWagens (open top carriage of veterans).

I called Gray's this morning, and was told there will be around 50 being auctioned in Brisbane. He couldn't give me an accurate timeframe, but said they will be heavily advertised and available somewhere between 2 weeks and 2 months. I was also told there are a handful with complianced rear seating.

87- that was a rough guestimation on my part. another guestimation is that the fleet is ~3/5s the way through. The process looks to be at least the forecast 5yrs length.
Some spares suppliers have had ?nteresting' purchases in recent months from Defence. It would indicate that some variants that do not, as yet, have G replacements may be in service for a while yet!
Ashley and others NOTE; The rear seats are 'engineered' for NSW. If registering in Qld, you may need another inspection and a Blue Mod plate.

Hey guys, had a quick look at the AWOL fleet yesterday. Pretty rough to say the least. Rust, missing parts and a general lack of maintenance, most in very poor condition. I think I'll still to buying one privately or ex army. Definitely worth a look though. Plenty of models with some interesting mods.

Personally, I think privately is the way to go. You may pay an extra grand or 3, but you get back in that it will be registered, you can start it and take it for a drive and have a professional look over it.
You may even get lucky and find someone who has put thousands into getting it up to scratch but has gotten tired of putting funds into it.
Mine now owes me 25k and I'm getting to that point.

Does that mean there is a auction scheduled?

Nothing scheduled yet. Grays reckons another 2-3 weeks before auction. And yep, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for a good private one

Prices look like good buying a day out from the end of the auction. Maybe people hanging off until the last couple of hours to get their bids in? Wouldn't mind another RFSV if they go for anything under 12k. Looks like a few mods in the auction images on some of them though from their original mil spec. Anyone on the forum been to have a look?
Regards Warrick.

A few potential bidders might have taken into account that on top of whatever that they bid they will have several thou$and$ of buyers fees, gst, state stamp duty, rego tax and fee, insurance, transport, inspection fee etc etc to pay as well?

Still looking like good buying when you consider that good RFSV's have sold for up to $20k last year in previous Grays ADF Disposal Auctions when you factor in buyers premium and GST. A crew cab 6x6 sold earlier this month at Minto for $25 400 plus buyers premium and GST.

For all those who have supported or wished me well, I am extremely glad to announce that a VERY, VERY good mate is going to purchase Lot 27/ ARN 51670 to secure it for me until I have the funds together to buy.
I am stunned by this generosity (i'll make it worth his while) R: you are a legend!
So for both our sakes, please bid on something else just this once. There are plenty to choose from.
If you know someone bidding, please give them a heads up. Best regards, Dave B.

Hi All
You probably all know now but the AWOL vehicle auction at Grays finished on 31st May
they all went, from what I can gather a bit cheaper.

G'day No limits.
Yep, a few bargains there.
Reckon the prices at the AFM auctions will be back at average leaving quite a few people kicking themselves at what they missed out on.
Still, it was a win for me!

Congrats! I picked up 51759, and it was a now or never thing on buying an RFSV, there wouldnt ever be such a supply of them again with as little broadcasting of the sale again, as you see AFM does a better job at advertising their auctions and limiting supply at various auctions and sites.
