Got my new suspension fitted today.  I'd advise everyone to have a really close look at theirs as well.  
Mine had done 150k, the springs were sagged over an inch, the shock absorbers, as you can see by the photos, are pretty much done.
They had some gas/oil left in them, but not enough for them to push back to their natural setting, that was all being done by the springs.
The bushes (particularly the front uppers) were all completely blown out.
By the state of it(and how it drove), this condition is not new.
So it got through the pre-sale army inspection, and 2 roadworthys (HA!) in this condition.
With the new stuff fitted, it's amazing. brakes in a straight line, is stable, doesn't shake, rattle and roll. I assumed that was just the way it was because, Old Land Rover. Not so. I've now replaced the tie rod ends, pitman arm, coils/springs and rear ball joint and it now drives with very little difference to my Laser.
So, for safety, have a real close look at it, take the covers off the front shock mounts and check the top bushes and if they are done, replace them.
I got mine - all Oz-Teks - with lifetime warranty installed for $1300. Money well worth spending.

<edit> the green shock mounts I bought from APT fabrications to replace the old ones, but as you can see, they've stuffed up and you can't fit even original shocks in them, let alone anything bigger. I'll be speaking to them next week about that.
