Defender on front page of paper

Just saw the Gold Coast Bulletin, nice army defender on the front page, covered in gear and troops. Very sturdy looking tyres!! Apparently the vehicles they use in Iraq. So where are the toyo's and Nissan's????? Pity about the article (very short though) on page 3 about 4x4's (again :x ) and what they are used for. Maybe they should poll landrover owners next time :twisted:

Back when we (our Navy etc) was going over to help the Tsunami rebuild at the beginning of the year - there was an awesome news report (ch 9 at 10:30pm) whaic said something like:

"HMAS ?? is loaded with things to help rebuild this country - they have heavy earth moving equipment, fully equipt Land Rover's to assist, medical supplies, personel and much more"

Yep, they then showed (no doubt the same type of) fully 'stocked-up' Army/Navy Defenders - approx 12 of them in the hull of this ship..... 8O 8)

The Defender's looked awesome!! 8)

so, it's about time there was some recognition for these beasty monsters of our roads!!
