Pics. I cant,,, it hasn't been built yet ;)
We've been pretty lucky, we've managed to supposedly get basically the last E-Diff (that's been ordered by a dealer) coming into the country. There are no SD's in the system, and only 4 HSE's with Diffs. So we got one of the slightly lower spec HSE's.
So, its Loire Blue with Almond interior.
Before we pick it up, it'll be sent to OL for a front bar, rear bar and tank

haha, nice one Mick.
I really wanted the Aintree Green, it just looks so good with the Almond interior, but they have discontinued several of the colours, including green.
You cant order to "your" spec now at all, you can only get what the dealers have already ordered themselves, but, you can change a few things before the final run.
Lucky for us, but we only wanted the SD, not the HSE. So extra money which we didn't really want to spend had to be spent.

Well done! Mine had the colour that yours superceded - Baltic Blue. It was a stunning colour especially clean and in the sun. Made you want to wash the car as it was so rewarding once clean.
My new car is white - I hate the colour (or rather the lack of it:D). I toy with the idea of having it painted in ..... Loire Blue! Now that would be sexy!:D

I like my white one, especially after a Java Black D2;);););)
Painting, expensive and its no longer genuine come sale time, plus they could stuff it up and have it peel/crack etc.
Look into vinyl wrap.Cheaper, all sorts of options with colours, plus come sale time it could be sold with the wrap in place or removed to reveal pristine unscratched paint.

I've thought about clear wrap along the sides and wings for mine.
I don't think it's really cheap, but I suspect on blue it could be a good investment to help save the paint.
My biggest concern is how clear it will be exactly, and if it detracts from the colour.

Haha, just as well I didn't get to see the green one up close and personal,, that'd be heartbreaking to see all scratched up I reckon.
Still, she won't be a show pony,, maiden voyage is being organised for hopefully the weekend after we pick it up,, depends if we go up to Albury for a drive instead,,, in which case, it will probably do Lightning Cr Track (Mitta Mitta/Omeo area) that weekend anyway 😏

It's not cheap as you say. I have done just the rear wheel arch flares for $150 and it's virtually invisible.
Nara Bronze is lighter than the blue I think but is still a decent amount of colour and you can't really see any difference with the wrap.
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2016/09/743.jpg
I've done just there because it gets hammered with rocks from the front wheels. Less so with good mud flaps but still prone.
But for more aggressive shrubbery I'm going to invest in the same stuff as Rich.
Both the wrap and the other temporary stuff (Road Warrior) are covered in these threads:

Cheers Scott, happy to be back in a Disco again, that's for sure. I miss my creature comforts. hehe,,, I'm a bit excited
Yeah, I had the Defender flares priced to have wrapped, that's was about $30 each,,, if I removed and replaced them, it would have been a tad cheaper, and they say, a slightly better finish.
One could always try and do it ones self, which might be fine on the Defer, but I wouldn't do it with the Disco.

Now we're talking about paint .... :D
Some A-hole recently damaged my driver's door. :angrylock: No dent but there is a symmetrical pattern that looks like a bracket or tubing or something. It's gouged right through the clear and paint in 3 spots. Whilst it's not worth getting the door resprayed it's a PITA that I'd like fixed. I once tried one of those Touch Up Guys for my old D4 before I sold it but was suitable unimpressed. He had thousands of paints but no LR colours. So I effectively got nothing more than a buff and some clear applied on some of the less deep scratches.
Has anybody tried genuine LR Touch Up pens? I'm assuming there is such a thing?
Cheers.

I bought a small vial of non-genuine touch up paint (Nara Bronze) from eBay after an unfortunate garage door incident, and the colour matching was pretty good. it hasn't got a clear coat (yet?) and I am not sure if it will get any. The trick is to build up the paint in layers to the level of the original paint, then once level/higher than original, slice it flat with a razor blade after a couple hours, then polish after a couple days.

Ive got the Land Rover touch up for mine after a mysterious deep scratch(down to bare metal) appeared whist parked in the shed.I know olde Mal did it as he had a key,and was working on his 2a Ambo in my yard,no more key for Mal :mad::mad:.
I filled it deep enough over several days then put the clearcoat on.Both are in small containers with a small brush. Its quite a wound as there is also a small dent, you have to look very closely to see it.

Thanks Andy,
Metallic is such a bugger once it's broken. I'll see what the net has to offer with regards to product as the slow build up theory seems to work, based on the input from this site.

Was looking at wrap prices seems to be about $4k for a total wrap here in Sydney.
But looking at the state of my D3 might be worth it for a new one.
A guy at work did it on his Golf when he bought it about 5 years ago, still looks great.

Another indication of fuel economy.
I towed our garden trailer to Perth today and back.I picked up 6 GOE wheels and tyres.
OK its a light trailer and I stayed on the 100kmh limit for towing. After a 490km return trip the fuel readout was normal.ie 9.3L/100km,no change:cool::cool::cool:.

Good to know, thanks Andy, and yeh, it might only be a light trailer/load, but its still wind drag etc. Just a major sort of "breeze" in the Defer and I know all about it fuel wise :o
mmm, GOE wheels. I spoke to Gordon during the week. I cant make an order at this point, but maybe the next :D
What tyres have you got on them?
