I have had this tdi 110 for 1.5 years now and from a coupe of days after buying it the lack of bolts through the roof to the pillar has has me a little nervous. The 110 is now half reasonable mechanically speaking after lot of major issues (thanks to s$&@t load of help from jboot). This lack of roof fastening really did jump back to my "must do really quickly list" after hitting some corrugations yesterday with the drivers side pillar and roof joint started slapping..... Oh ****e!
I have put a few pics on to describe better the lack of alignment. What can I do with these? How can I try to line them up and what size bolts are they? Do I need to do the dodgy and drill a hole from the interior side out and put a stainless coach bolt through??

Not a bolt but a screw, a big one. Shine a torch in there and see if you have the screw plate still there for the screw to bite into. If it's there, you're ok; if not, you're in for a bit of strife.

Awsome Thanks Gromit
I am a little confused now as checked and these ones say No.14 x 25mm self tapping.
Just called the local LR dealer and havent got any in country but are "No.6 x 1 inch long self tapping".
If the roof and pillar were lined up I would just buy both at the bolt supplier down the road and see what fitted but as such an angle i really dont want to screw myself by stripping what little I have...
Might try call the UK on Mon with the vin numbers
How the heck to you try line them up? Backward force on steel pillar :( or push the whole roof forward by backing into a wall?? Not great options that I can think of, but I am a bit of a battler ;)
