Thank God they left. This is a major catastrophe.

Bloody awful, and set to get a lot worse. News tonight said the fire would double in size and nothing can be done. They've done very well evacuating everyone safely so far, I hope they continue to do so.

The houses mainly have wooden shingles and vinyl siding in a Bushfire area.
Now I ask you!
No wonder they had to evacuate the residents. I couldn't figure out why the residents were evacuated until I read that and the video shows the siding just melting.

Quite a discussion on WWWT about the neglect of the authorities on hazard reduction burning and neglect of forest thinning as well as cutting the budget for fire fighting..
